    It's safe to say that swimming is the discipline that changes nothing in modern pentathlon.

    Well, he's always been good, it's just been a long run of top 15's, which I wouldn't see as success for an athlete of his calibre. I'd say his golden age was 2009-13 and then he had a fall in form.

    The Olympic discipline changes are really taking a tall on our team, since we've mostly known for sprinters. 70% of our team changed their disciplines and I think that's one of the primary reasons why we're leaving this competition without medals. Still, 4 finals and a lot of semi's gives me hope that we should fix everything in a year or two.

    Pretty weird time to retire. With the Russian women's team being fairly weak these couple of seasons, she had a chance to go to the Olympics.

    Where were these Chinese Taipei Javelin Throwers during the World Championships. They're performing pretty well now.

    Expected a larger appearance from South Korea.

    I think it's just most of the Western Europeans boycotting this since it's held in Russia. Summer Championships used to be a little bit more of a popular affair.

    If you look into them for a long time, you might be able to see Slovenia too

    These Summer Championships feel like that big old family gathering from all over the world, it's just that everybody's Russian with some Eastern Europe/Balkan cherry on top.

    I don't know whose Russian, Ukranian or Belarusian anymore, they keep switching every few years. At least China 2022 should be able to participate in the Olympics without enrolling an entirely Russian squad.

    Well, after Lithuanian Summer Championships ending, I have a feeling that our team is not improved from last year, so it's probably going to be another long & unsuccessful season.

    Nice, already two medals for Danas Rapšys and he's also one of the favourites for 200m. Backstroke, which is his strongest discipline.

    I have a good history of medalling in Biathlon, my tactics of putting Laura Dahlmeier in first place of every race are going to be unbeatable.

    This 14th place just shows how atrocious I am when guessing athletics in a world scale, since I'm much more in the loop when it comes to European Athletics. But I managed to beat heywoodu and dcro, so I'll take this small victory Too bad that I can only really commit to Athletics and Biathlon predictions, anything else is mostly just guessing, that's why I stopped participating in most of them.
