  1. Wierer’s ski speed a lot better today.
  2. Wow, Norwegians all mess up on the last shot!
  3. Norwegians all 5/5, Swedes all 4/5.
  4. Good news - Bobsleigh is back! Steven Shanwayne raced today in the WC two-man, obviously did not scale the heights but... Also one of the teams was running in a bob they’d borrowed from us . When it comes to two man Bob, we British owe Italy a debt we can never repay. https://www.olympic.org/news/nash-and-dixon-great-britain-s-golden-bobsleigh-duo
  5. How great is it to have John Morgan back on comms - at about 02:00 Lake Placid time. Somehow between them the FIL & the IBSF have managed to get his home studio man cave sorted out.
  6. An incredible achievement in the era. Another incredible achievement - Andrew Young is now Third in the Overall & Third in the Sprint World Cup rankings. Andrew Musgrave is now also third in the Distance rankings. I just cannot express how incredible these achievements are in the history of British sport. Sadly, 98% of British fans don’t know anything about it!
  7. Norway looking good already for the double... Wierer on a charge! Hanna Ö wins the last shoot!
  8. Very confident run for & Andrew Young in the semi.... for the Final. Rare victory for - Lauren vd Graaff has had a couple. SILVER!! . Just too bad that he had a broken pole & had to put in a big effort mid-race - otherwise I think he would have had enough in the tank to get past San Pellegrino.
  9. Yeah, Now you mention it, I’m not sure if there is a particular word.....just cover or plate, I think.
  10. Target. Cible.
  11. First good news of the morning is that they’ve adjusted the women’s downhill course to take away the killer corner where five ladies crashed yesterday. Goggia wasn’t happy with her run but it’s holding up so far....
  12. I remember with women’s ski jumping the first World Championships was absolutely farcical, so this is already better.
  13. Thought it was a bit much that several world-class skiers all crashed in exactly the same damn place.
  14. obviously have all the nation’s top mathematicians travelling on the private jet.
  15. Just caught up - this is why the luge relay is the second greatest relay in any sport, second only to the athletics 4x100. So many things can go wrong because nobody is starting or finishing the way they normally do.
  16. Think this is very true of all sports, it is determination that makes champions.
  17. Yeah, but it’s like one of those footballers with stupid haircuts - if you’re the most conspicuous player on the pitch, you’ve got to be the best player on the pitch. It’s OK if you’re Ruud Gullitt, not so good if you are Jason Lee.
  18. The good news is that she is unlikely to confuse her Bob with someone else’s.
  19. You regularly see this in the Olympics. Gold medal contenders don’t want to show their rivals what lines they are going to take on the Big Day, so in training they shut it down before they get to that tough turn. Admittedly it is rare for someone to shut It down even before they leave the start gate.
  20. Todays half-time score is 3 0.
  21. Don’t think we have anyone else remotely on her level. There were quite a lot of Brits in the Swedish pre-Season races I saw, but not really decent club runners. I guess if the IBU cup gets going we might learn more, but that’s where we are now.
  22. Yeah, but you don’t want to get yourselves in the position the Russians have been in where you are permanently shuttling your mid-ranked performers between the Worlds & the IBU. It’s probably better to stick with them for one month then make the decision at the end of that block.
  23. Well, World Cup top 8 finishes in about 90% of Olympic events have never been so easy to come by as this season.
