  1. At one point Canada and USA had no routes to qualifying in baseball, and both nations usually get the short end of the stick in other sports as there is no equivalent CAC or South American Games.
  2. As I said in the CAC thread, the gold/silver medalists from 2011, 2015 and 2019 all miss out.
  3. and all qualify in baseball, the 4 countries with the largest team sizes in Lima No looks likely they will have the biggest regression in team size from Lima. No as well, meaning the last gold and silver medalists from 2011, 2015 and 2019 will not compete!! Recent press releases say top 4 qualify here, but earlier it said top 3, so not entirely sure this is accurate
  4. She has performed at two Olympic closing ceremonies 😜
  5. Happy Canada day!
  6. Perhaps the Pan Am quota is the consolation prize (tbh I haven't checked the results and don't know how far he is away from it)
  7. https://canoekayak.ca/olympic-kayakers-announce-their-retirement-from-sprint-paddling/ 2 Tokyo Olympians retired.
  8. The Toronto 2015 venue was chosen one month before the games, a high school athletics track. Probably one of the worst venues ever.
  9. Oh wow that is definitely a first. Probably a good model for future Pan Am hosts as well. Coincidentally for Toronto 2015, these two sports gave the biggest headaches in terms of organizing.
  10. Same 3 teams qualify as in Lima 2019 from the CAC Games.
  11. For figure or speed skating?
  12. Colombia is not a member of CCCAN, as per the QS
  13. These should be the 3x3 final qualifiers for men. missed out by one spot for women. is next in line
  14. Confirmed with Pan AM Aquatics, the combined scores of the team technical and free finals will be used to determine Santiago qualifiers Mexico 248.6469 + 203.0925 El Salvador 135.2383 + 164.2529 Cuba 122.5708 + 149.0267 Aruba 113.3375 + 172.6517 So this confirms get the three team spots.
  15. Looks like boxing is open entry, as per QS In view of the fact that the event will be a qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, all the National Olympic Committees may participate in the Pan American Games and register additional athletes in the categories that they have not qualified for yet, considering the following: • Only one athlete per NOC may participate per weight category. • The athletes must be registered and accredited by their NOC through the Santiago 2023 system and within the dates established for the Pan American Games. • Additional athletes will be accommodated in accordance with the provisions of the boxing policy that can be found on the extranet and in the Chef of Mission Guide. • All the expenses must be covered by the NOC or by the National Federation (airline ticket, accommodation, transportation, meals). • The additional athletes will receive an accreditation for the Pan American Games and if they win a medal, they will be eligible to receive it.
  16. qualifies in women's handball
  17. Did throw away a team quota? https://results-sansalvador2023.com/#/discipline/SWA/results/W.TEAM8FREE---------.FNL-.000100--

  19. I wish gets the quota, but we know they wont rip
  20. has a different male athlete in the track cycling events at the 2023 CAC Games. SO it looks like they might indeed enter two male cyclists.
  21. Aruba with at least 11 quotas for Santiago here!
  22. Here: https://boxingcanada.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/ResultsJune222023.pdf
  23. Now time to switch nationality to an obscure country, and compete at the Olympics
  24. Curacao is doing really well in the baseball tournament, I wonder if they will allow them to compete at the Pan Ams (under Aruba ofc) I wish Pan Am Sports would all those extra 'territories' to compete as well
