  1. and get the last women's team quotas in table tennis. 11/12 teams are the same as in Lima, with replacing this time. 12 athletes will compete for the last 6 quotas: (plus wildcard presumably) https://wtt.ittf.link/index.php?option=com_fabrik&view=list&listid=78&Itemid=226&vw_entry_list___tournament_raw=132&vw_entry_list___gender_raw=W&resetfilters=1&fabrik_incsessionfilters=0
  2. The Pan AM Championships (on the FPS website) manual says the top 6 qualify. So it looks like they just cancelled the final qualification event. This means qualifies both teams. This also means 6 entries in the mixed doubles, meaning two countries are guaranteed a medal before the event even starts (unless they do a different format from Lima 2019.
  3. Brook Overholt also in the same race with a new PB of 55.50
  4. Two OFSAA records today Julia Tunks (daughter of Jason) broke the women's senior discus throw record with a throw of 55.62, beating Trinity Tutti's throw of 52.77, it also beat here Canada wide throw of 53.72 from last year. Julia is only 16 and has a PB of 59.11. If she gets a few more throws in that range she might even qualify for Worlds. Sayanthan Arulrajan broke the men's junior long jump record with a jump of 7.17 m, beating the previous record of 7.09 from 2010.
  5. gets a team in women's table tennis or will get the men's quota at the South American Championships. did not enter this event, but bizarrely will be competing at the final qualifier in two days in the same venue. Makes no sense too me.
  6. So only difference is replacing from Lima
  7. Canada just defeated Cuba in at the North American women's championships in Greenland. Cuba beat Canada in Lima 2019 by 13 goals and went on to win the bronze. The Canadian women now qualify for the final vs Greenland (who are the heavy faves), but an accomplishment in itself. The Canadian women can now aim for a surprise bronze (or better) medal in Santiago.
  8. Racquetball Quotas: Men: 3: 2: Women: 3: 2: A total of 11 countries qualified in total.
  9. and take the final men's quotas while and claim the final women's spots. 1 spot left per gender.
  10. Canada is literally burning and the smoke from wildfires is all over Canada and the Eastern US. Some of the pics look like they were taken in a post-apocalyptic world
  11. EC released info on funding and budgetary pressures: https://sirc.ca/news/understanding-the-funding-finances-and-function-of-canadas-equestrian-sport-organization/
  12. https://cfjctoday.com/2023/06/07/cycling-canada-cites-budget-in-firing-track-endurance-coach-jenny-trew/ Unfortunately with inflation, higher airfare costs, stagnant government funding, expect more like this to happen.
  13. Canada's baseball qualifier team named: https://baseball.ca/baseball-canada-announces-pan-am-games-qualifier-roster
  14. My guess is they will award it to the next best placed team here. Makes 0 sense to have a separate qualification tournament (or it could be the CAC games). But no official communication so far.
  15. and get the first three men's slots. Last two spots down to: Gold medalist in 2015 to near non-qualification for the Canadian men. Also update to women's event, two spots will be available in the loser bracket as has already qualified
  16. get the first 4 spots available in women's squash. Last spot will be between:
  17. at the pan am squash qualifiers, a max 5 nations can qualify both teams. Its possible we will end up with 5 or less (keeping in mind there is one more qualifier.
  18. https://rowingcanada.org/canadian-team-announced-for-world-cup-ii/ Team announced for WC2. Zeeman is back, but in the quad sculls!
  19. Ethan Katzberg was third in the men's event as well
  20. Table tennis squad selected based on trials this past weekend: https://ttcanada.ca/the-winners-2023-pan-am-selections/ Hazin didn't even make top 4
  21. qualifies full teams in Table tennis (there was no other competition).
  22. lol, your guess is good as mines. Not sure if this helps, but te Pan Am Surf website has articles on who has qualified and for what events:https://www.pasasurf.org/en/
  23. Santiago 2023 has a fourth CEO ! https://thestoriest.com/sports/350873.html This is unprecedented.
