I thought no individual quotas are awarded through rankings for archery? :mumble:

I am not the one who did the math, from my understanding, quatas who are reallocated after the final tournament are through ranking, and from my understanding there will be between one and three of these probably

Pantone here knows if :ISR we have any real chance to qualify in men/women?

It's  complicated, but roy dror and Mika moshe have a really good  Chance  through the rankings (even  if  we may not be able to send people to the final quallification tournament as it is in turkey and security will not let Israeli athletes go there probably )

Btw. Today, at "opening ceremony" called Turquoise Carpet the :ISR delegation was absent....

For my understanding they are letting eden go outside the hotel only for rehearsals and for the live show for security reasons

  4. hopefully :ISR get close to a quata, the new archers are great, roy dror is very talented, itay shanni was our first ever archer in the olympics and did amazing, and Mikaella moshe is new in the sport (moved from rhythmic gymnastics only 2 years ago) and is on a meteoric rise

guy mazkin the head of the archery federation is amazaing in his job (he was the head coach last cycle, and had an olympic quata for london, for our olympic commity did not send him, he sued them and lost (it went all the way the supreme court) )

  5. the israeli team will probably not go in the end, as for the situation the turkish security agency and the israeli do not cooporate and the israeli security did not premit the team to fly, so no team for us here (also archery is in question)

the israeli olympic commity is trying to talk with the UWW and the IOC to solve the situation or get a quatta as the athletes cant compete, but it will not happan

  6. 2 things

    1. so the iranian attack did nothing but minorly hit one base, and hit one kid (who lives in a community is the desert so its extremly hard to protect these communities )

    2. i hate these settelers but today they see a resone to fight (i think its stuipid and they shuld let the army catch the killers) but a 14 years old boy disappered a few days ago and yesterday was found dead from a suspected homiced

  7. from the news it will take 9 hours to arrive here,  i bellieve it will be shot down, for now they canceled all edication activities for the next few days, and big gathering (over 1000) are canceled

we will see what is happening tommorow, lets hope its not much

The reason :ISR qualifies 2 athletes is because Mikhail Yakovlev is top 10 in the ranking for both individual sprint and keirin.

In order to be able to take a second rider, they would need to have competed during the qualification window so I think the quota would need to be reallocated.

Thanks, good to know, it will probably be reallocated as for some reason our federation is only focusing on omnium and Madison

Current track cycling quota projections By NOC after the Nations Cup II event in Hong Kong:

There are still 2 ranking events left in the qualifying window:

    1.) 2024 PanAmerican Championships - Carson :USA (3-Apr - 7-Apr)

    2.) Nations Cup III - Milton :CAN: (12-Apr - 14-Apr)

From what you sent it seems like we( :ISR) will have the quata for 2 athletes in sprint, we have only one athlete active (in that discipline, on an international level) can the federation just send someone who never participated in the sprint ir will the second quata will be relocated?

  10. In Tokyo we  :ISR had at least 3 representatives who are LGBTQ+ (from what I know) and all have (or will get ) the quata for Paris, raz hershko (judo) Anat lelior (surfing) and Moran Samuel (paralympic rowing)

I think we have one or 2 more in the community in the team, but these are the once I know of

  11. this competition will decide the selection for the olympics in the :ISR team, in men  Reuveney need 8th place to overcome yoav omer for the place in the team

in women the race between Kantor Tibi and Spichakov is interesting, but overall what is heppening is that Spichakov needs to finish 2 places above the other 2, if not the one ahead from Tibi and Kantor will be selected, it is also interesting becose all of the team but  Spichakov are training in as a team under shahar tzuberi (olympic bronze medalist from 2008)

we have never had close to this size and quality of a team in any sport in the country (not to mention all of the team is in the top 16 which is crazy), we have a whatsapp group for following olympic sports and usually when there is judo we only talk judo, today we allmost ignored the judo to do simulations for who will be in the olympics

  12. super proud of yuval, the israeli federation only send him and yonatan cohen as they are the two with the most chance to get to the olympics and needed the points and as a result of current events didint want to send alot of competitors , amazing work from him and it seems like we may have a fencer in the olympics again after some time

amazing, only the second medal for israel ever in the grand prix level if i am not mistaken

  13. for team :ISR we have a very small team as for the events going on and security risks, our team is: anastasia gorbenko, daria golovaty and denis loktev, no relay team as the federation believe we will get in with last years results on 4x200 women, 4x200 men and 4x100 men

also the federation have a big conflict in it and may be dismentaled soon (the two main factions in israeli sport are fighting there and it is going to court, some political bullshit)
