The Australian authorities didn’t tell him anything it was the Australian Tennis association and that is the crucial point in this whole story and big difference.
Australian politicians can always throw Tennis Australia under the bus and Djokovic gets swept away in the process. Serbian fans don't vote in the Australian elections after all

Everyone knows Djokovic's lawyers will try to find a plausible excuse. Well, the first attempt kinda failed. Let's see what they come up with tomorrow

Hector in monster form. She could be unbeatable at the Olympics if she keeps this up.
6th place for Maryna Gasienica-Daniel (third time this season)
-
Gasienica-Daniel beating both Shiffrin & Vlhova in the same competition. That is quite incredible.

Do you realize it was Magoni who was pulling the ropes. Petra and Mikaela have correct relation (both already mentioned it many times), only the medias are always looking for sensations
I've seen so many "good relations" in professional sports gone sour that I don't buy those stories anymore.

Official decision: there is no reskate, Erin Jackson, the world number 1, is out unless someone ranked ahead of her gives up their spot.
...they are definitively changing the selection procedures for 2026.
It's not like USA changed those trial quals in athletics over the years?

Svah je strašne rozbitý (the slope is quite broken)
If she said it I trust her, why would she lie ? broken in the sense, very icy but with a lot of bumps. so she couldn't put the skis straight, her mistake for sure. that is what she said, this is just a part of the sentence, she said it is her own fault, She skied very badly.
Jeez what are you always searching for ?
She has nothing to prove to anyone and look for excuses when she flop a run. She was already smiling and will forget this race already 10 minutes after her 2nd run. The only goal is Beijing, everything else is just a "training"
Sorry, ever since blaming a bad result on the gate pattern set by an American coach I lost all the trust in her words. That's the biggest piece of bullshit I heard while watching alpine skiing for 30 years. I literally had to check if this pattern wasn't set by US coach again

"I don't rate it well (the 1st run performance), because from the beginning to the finish I struggled and fought hardly with the track. The slope is quite broken and there is no light on it. but Unfortunately, I skied very badly ."
The slope is broken when she had bib 4?
The results seems to indicate otherwise. We have a record group of bibs outside of Top 15 in Top 15 Run 1 - with zero DNF help.

He skied down to the finish so probably not-season ending scare.
I suppose TV directors are guided to avoid replays if there is a possibility of a serious injury though.

Well, Shiffrin & Gut-Behrami have the COVID excuse (and Gut was really absent for much longer), I don't know what is Vlhova's excuse though?
The course is holding up well, Goggia at +2,46 down might have a hard time to qualify.

That's too bad... I thought anyone could get Canadian citizenship.
No Olympics for Deanna Stellato-Dudek, the fanciest of the fancy names.
It seems like her husband must be of Polish descent - Illinois where she comes from is full of Polish immigrants.

Vanessa James is back competing for Canada? Geez, that's three countries she represented on international level now? And none of them dissolved like

Sidney Poitier was the first Black actor to win in a lead Oscar category - this lead distinction is rather important here because Poitier was the true lead of the film and an all around movie star.
There's a lot to unpack with Hattie McDaniel's Oscar win - yes, she was the first black person to win an Oscar, but the role was very stereotypical of the mamie stereotype and when she attended the Oscars she was relegated to the back of the room.
The movie was about the Civil War days anyway? Revisionism sounds good in theory but a black person winning an Oscar in 1940 in ANY category sounds more impressive than Poitier winning it in 1964 at the height of Martin Luther King popularity? That decision could be seen as political while there was zero political gain to award one for a black person in 1940 (USA wasn't even directly involved in WWII yet).
-
Hettie McDaniel won an Oscar in acting category 24 years before Poitier? Obviously he's not the first black person to win the Oscar for acting
I find it strange in the gender equality reality of USA these days someone makes such an obvious error?

Amanda Anisimova is having the best week since January 2020 as she made the Melbourne Summer Set 2 Final. She's been working with Darren Cahill this week and suddenly she's had the best week in two years!

Ice Hockey is usually Top 3 Olympic sport for pre-milennial generations. When I was a kid there was a hockey game on CT1 or CT2 every weekend (since I live ca. 120 km from the Czech border I could get the Czech TV on my analog antena back then). The days when Peter Forsberg was supposed to be the new European Gretzky

If Almaty was given the WOG none of the current prostests would have happened IMO. Hell, Nazarbiev would still be the President and would delay all the backlash until after the Games.
Anyway, it's another PR win for China as suddenly they can point to other countries having major internal issues. And obviously the liberal democracy lobbyists won't do anything about people shot dead in Kazakhstan. This country isn't important enough to fight a political battle over it after all

Australia is a mess. Their hard lockdowns measures look more desperate & unsuccessful the longer the pandemic lasts (and it will last for some years yet IMO).
Meanwhile French sport minister says French Open will allow unvaccinated players (including Djokovic himself of course)

I've been watching alpine skiing since Saalbach WC in 1991 and I don't give a damn about the team event. I've given up on the mostly unfair parallel races in general.

There is a Chinese women hockey league? With Americans playing in there? I suppose they didn't have any visa issues?![:coffee: :coffee:](https://totallympics.com/uploads/emoticons/kaffeetrinker_2.gif)
