The Australian authorities didn’t tell him anything it was the Australian Tennis association and that is the crucial point in this whole story and big difference.

Australian politicians can always throw Tennis Australia under the bus and Djokovic gets swept away in the process. Serbian fans don't vote in the Australian elections after all :p

Do you realize it was Magoni who was pulling the ropes. Petra and Mikaela have correct relation (both already mentioned it many times), only the medias are always looking for sensations

I've seen so many "good relations" in professional sports gone sour that I don't buy those stories anymore.

Svah je strašne rozbitý (the slope is quite broken)

If she said it I trust her, why would she lie ? broken in the sense, very icy but with a lot of bumps. so she couldn't put the skis straight, her mistake for sure. that is what she said, this is just a part of the sentence, she said it is her own fault, She skied very badly.

Jeez what are you always searching for ?

She has nothing to prove to anyone and look for excuses when she flop a run. She was already smiling and will forget this race already 10 minutes after her 2nd run. The only goal is Beijing, everything else is just a "training"

Sorry, ever since blaming a bad result on the gate pattern set by an American coach I lost all the trust in her words. That's the biggest piece of bullshit I heard while watching alpine skiing for 30 years. I literally had to check if this pattern wasn't set by US coach again

The slope is broken when she had bib 4? :mumble: The results seems to indicate otherwise. We have a record group of bibs outside of Top 15 in Top 15 Run 1 - with zero DNF help.

Sidney Poitier was the first Black actor to win in a lead Oscar category - this lead distinction is rather important here because Poitier was the true lead of the film and an all around movie star.

There's a lot to unpack with Hattie McDaniel's Oscar win - yes, she was the first black person to win an Oscar, but the role was very stereotypical of the mamie stereotype and when she attended the Oscars she was relegated to the back of the room.

The movie was about the Civil War days anyway? Revisionism sounds good in theory but a black person winning an Oscar in 1940 in ANY category sounds more impressive than Poitier winning it in 1964 at the height of Martin Luther King popularity? That decision could be seen as political while there was zero political gain to award one for a black person in 1940 (USA wasn't even directly involved in WWII yet).

  6. If Almaty was given the WOG none of the current prostests would have happened IMO. Hell, Nazarbiev would still be the President and would delay all the backlash until after the Games.

Anyway, it's another PR win for China as suddenly they can point to other countries having major internal issues. And obviously the liberal democracy lobbyists won't do anything about people shot dead in Kazakhstan. This country isn't important enough to fight a political battle over it after all :coffee:
