As far as I'm aware, he has already given up, both in biathlon and cross-country, where he would easily have qualified. It sucks, but it comes to show how much certain countries actually value their athletes as a whole.

Does NZ care about anything other than rugby & maybe cricket? Poland usually tries to enter as many athletes as possible and nobody really cares whether such athlete has a shot of making Top 16 let alone a medal :p If he/she makes whatever A or B standard they will be selected no matter what (sometimes it completely backfires as evident by our swimming entry mishaps in the last two SOG).

Just cannot understand how jumpers from nations with huge support teams can keep getting DQFs.

Because everyone is trying to manipulate the suits. In fact the richer nations are more willing to do so. The days when Ammann caught everyone off guard with new bindings in Vancouver 2010 are kinda over. Back to the suits, now it's even forbidden to clap hands on the thighs while sitting on the gate. It was done to stretch the suits and increase its surface.

Ryoyu Kobayashi wins in Oberstdorf. Only one Polish jumper in the second round (Kubacki 28th). HC Michal Dolezal will not survive this season given how bad we're doing.

But they were doing it by actual cheating. Shoes might be controversial, but it's not the same as pumping someone up on steroids.

Carl Lewis admitted to using doping and WA won't do anything about it so those DDR records will stand or else WA would also have to address American athletes. This can of worms stays closed.

  4. FIFA annulled some of the Olympic team matches in the 60s and 70s before - even though they were played before the U-21 eligibility era. This infamously cost Kazimierz Deyna his 100 cap milestone (his 100th NT game was the 1978 World Cup game vs Argentina celebrated as such at the time). I see they found new ways to manipulate the "official" statistics even in the era where everyone is a professional football player by design. Well, Algeria can still extend their streak during Afcon next month?
