Kowalczyk came into biathlon after Zbigniew Waskiewicz was voted as the President of the PZB in 2020. However he didn't receive a vote of confidence in June 2022 and Joanna Badacz was voted as the new President one month later. Major surprise wins a medal

That's a major surprise. Pacut comes from the same city where I was born and it's a city of Waldemar Legień which still operates one of the most successful judo clubs in Poland. Anyway, a medal here would still be a major shock. Polish judo has regressed badly over the last decade.
