  4. what a terrible Olympics for Italy, no hope at all. disastrosamente I didn't read the whole forum but I'm kind of sure one certain user wrote something like this yesterday or today or will write tomorrow when couple of Italians fail somewhere

  5. Now, what an incredible story from Lucas. He suffered an injustice from the Norwegian federation, considered retiring, returned to train with a country without a strong tradition in the sport, and even though he has his own sponsors, he still doesn't compare to top teams like Switzerland or Norway. Well, here he is as an Olympic champion.

  6. GRANDE LORA Still can't believe this actually happened. No one was of course expecting to medal in biathlon, one of the most competitive winter sports. A regular top 10 seemed impossible with the awful season we were having. Even our commentator, who is one of the best sporting journalists we have period, and has commentated biathlon for over 20 years was very emotional and started crying. He said, he never believed he would get the chance to commentate an Olympic medal for in his lifetime, as he wasn't on deck in 1998 & 2002, but here we are. Also, damn you Frenchies, couldn't you miss some more once in a while

  10. What a day! Seeing Bruna compete and fulfill her Olympic dream...wow, just, wow We managed to get the large army of Swedes behind us to cheer specifically for her too, so that was awesome! And by some coincidence, we had a few Dutch people behind us After the qualifying, Duda (the other Brazilian) and her family came up to the grandstand and sat right in front of us. She had a good race and beat Bruna, so congrats to her. Unlike Duda, Bruna had quite a lot of large interviews with media ranging from Brazilian to Dutch so it took a lot longer for her to reach the grandstands, but she was in time to watch the quarters all the way up to the finals. Tears flowed when she reached us as a freshly minted Olympian I told her Duda was sitting right in front of us (she hadn't noticed), so - sportsmanship being her thing - she of course went immediately up to her to congratulate her. Duda's face turned into the most foul mooded face I have ever seen anyone have immediately and they literally immediately afterwards left There's an insane amount of action on Bruna's instagram at the moment (lots of interviews and stuff). Maybe some on Duda's as well, but I'm not sure, as - like Bruna - I am blocked by her for whatever reason, so no idea

  15. Hey guys, just came by to let you know it was tough to see the Hockey final and I guess you are quite disappointed by Canada's overall performances in these Olympics. But huge congrats to @Topicmaster1010 and all users to make this club so active during the Games, it was by far the most active club of the Olympics. Keep up the amazing job and now that the Olympics are over, let's focus on LA28!

  20. After winning the first gold medal, things became much smoother. Maybe you don't know. The men's individual champion and Xu Mengtao are husband and wife. Haha.

  21. Oh my god. This is a completely unexpected gold medal. We all know that Stolz has been in strong form in the 1500m event this season. It can only be said that this is the charm of the Olympics. I think the two medals won in previous competitions have given Ning Zhongyan great confidence, allowing him to go all out in his main event. To have defeated such a heavily favored competitor in such exceptional form, this gold medal is truly of immense weight and extraordinary significance.

  24. I'm very relieved because the 3000m relay final should be (if everything goes well) the first Olympic final I ever watch in person.

  25. Well, not the medal that him or I was hoping for probably, but nonetheless I'm super proud of the this guy for winning back-to-back Olympic silver medals Grondin is still only 24 years old, I'm sure he'll get more opportunities in the future, just hope he can sustain his level until then

  26. Absolutely incredible. This is some kind of madness. Here in Bulgaria we were talking before the start of the Olympics that we were sending one of our strongest teams to the Winter Games so far, but we never imagined that on the fifth day we would have 2 medals. Truly madness

  27. An amazing experience at the short track venue. I had hoped Canada would win gold, but the second best option happened (the home team winning). And as I mentioned in the Canada forum, I got to meet the Canadian men's hockey team and I briefly chatted with Sidney Crosby.

  29. Now that we're only a few hours out from Milano-Cortina starting with curling, just wanted to wish everyone the very best of luck at the Olympics! May you all have a memorable Olympics, whether it's a record setting medal haul, a medal, good finishes, a podium for your favourite athlete, participation, or the live experience of an Olympics for those of you that will be watching at the venues live.

  30. With the end of yet another Olympic Games comes the time of my traditional round-up of the activity in the forum. And we have a new record for a Winter Games, at least when it comes to the last 3 editions. One factor is that we had them back in Europe in a much more convenient time zone for many users, than the last two, which were in Asia. Also having stuff before the Opening Ceremony plays a big factor, as Curling took advantage of the concentration of eyes early on. Having the largest program in sessions helps as well.

  31. MOST AND LEAST PREDICTABLE SPORTS Below is a graph that shows you how we did as a group in the individual sports. The lower the number, the lower the predictability. The higher the number, the higher the predictability. As for scoring, a score of 66% means on average, we guessed two medallists correctly, but the third medallist was not guessed at all. A score of 50% means that we got one medallist completely correct, and then got the placement wrong for one other medallist, and the third medallist was unknown. Or, it could mean we guessed the three podium finishers, just in the wrong order. A score of 33% means that we got one medallist correct, but the other two were not guessed at all (even for other medals). I think our top and bottom finishers are to be expected. MOST AND LEAST PREDICTABLE DISCIPLINES Events where we guessed the Gold Medallist 100%: Events where we guessed the Gold Medallist 0% (nobody guessed it correctly, but maybe for another medal): Our Average Gold Medal Correct Guess was 45% Our Least Predictable Disciplines: Our Most Predictable Disiplines: Our average, across all disciplines, for total podium makeup is 48%. Full Discipline Results by Predictability: What I learned this Olympics: Though there are favorites...the Olympics causes anything to happen! Thanks for playing, everyone! I won't be doing this in the future, as it took away from my enjoyment of the Olympics somewhat (both in the hosting and the predicting myself), but I look forward to the next Olympics cycle!

  33. I was in the shorttrack-arena in Milan last Thursday. Still unbelievable what happened there. Two gold medals for in just 15 minutes time. I expected Velzeboer, but Van 't Wout: wow! I will never forget this historical evening for Dutch shorttrack. Now back home and watching tonight's shorttrack from the couch.

  38. I am headed home now. I throughly enjoyed my time in Milan! The arenas were full and packed with supporters. However, I will say these were not well organized games behind the scenes and left a lot to be desired. Ciao Milan!
