  3. It was a terrible terrible tournament with a little happy ending. Nahid Kiani became the first Iranian woman to win a gold medal in the World Championship of an Olympic sport. very interesting because few months ago she was expelled from the national team still 9 out of our 15 athletes lost in their first matches (actually I should say 8. one of those defeats was intentional ) which is a terrible terrible result. I know we have lots of talented athletes but there is something wrong with our TKD since 2015 but nobody still knows what.

  4. And the last heat for round 4 is over, both the French relegate in the repechage. For the European Quota, only Israel is still in the main round.

  6. Some updates after frist 2 heat in men's 4th round: Oceania: Billy Stairmand won his heat and advanced to round 5, top30 (and quota for Oceania) is now sure Africa: Nothing to do for Bouchgua, that was eliminated. Bouchgua need to don't finish in the 4th place in his repechage round, or the Africa's Continental quota will be on trouble. Europe: Morais is out, still 5 European in the 4th round (2x , 2x , 1x )

  10. They are using the same criteria as before meaning any nation with an average of 8 or fewer individual athletes at the 2 previous Games are eligible for those Tripartite Universality places. 93 nations are eligible this time. The International Judo Federation has the official Olympic document published on their website: Paris Olympic Games 2024 Annex 2 List of Eligible NOCs for Universality Places - 24.11.2022 - ENG

  11. At the Mel Zajac International Swim Meet right now! Can’t wait to watch our swimmers compete! Especially excited for Liendo and MacNeil, but there’s many more names here that have the potential to make Team Canada for Paris 2024, should be a good time here in Vancouver.

  12. End of the day. We didnt have the main round 4 for men. Lets sum up that Women Oceania - Paige Hareb advanced on competition, and keeps being the best from her country. Africa - Sarah Baum and Zoe Steyn advanced at repechage, they still have a long way till the quotas. South Africa still has a third athlete to compete, meanwhile had one surfer eliminated, and two to competing yet. Asia - Shino Matsuda is the last one at main round. She is some steps ahead of her rivals. Europe - is unstoppable. All surfers at main round, even Defay who is ineligible. is also competitive with two athletes. and have one athlete each. Men Europe - advance with two surfers. But Fioravanti likely will be ineligible. and are in contender with one athlete. Asia - has its full team qualified. And keeps bothering them with Rio Waida and I Ketut Agus. We might have direct dispute for the Asian quota. Africa - Teva keeps fighting for his spot, he is the only African at main round. Oceania - Billy Stairmand Is in the same situation of his compatriot, Paige. He is the favorite for this quota

  13. Candelaria Resano advanced for Main Round 4, and if my calculations are right, she is now eligible for an universality quota. Even if she loses all heats, she will finish at least on 46th position.

  14. A small summary abou Men's t European Olympic Qualification. Only 13 European still. Still in the main round: 6th Repechage: 2x , 2x , 5th Repechage: 2x , France and Italy are the only NOC with a full contingent, but Fioravanti will probably be not eligible

  15. Amazing result for . Despite the fact of two of its surfers were eliminated, all tree male surfers are eligible for a universality quota

  19. I respect and believe in the right to self-determination. I generally disapprove of the heavy hand my government has played in neighboring nations. However, I personally believe you can build a much healthier nation around other values. I would just advise caution around using race, religion, or ethnicity as the foundation or measurement for one’s nationality. Of course, pluralist republics aren’t immune from their own troubles.

  20. Another good result for Belgium. Looks like they will not be missing the Olympics this time. In all likelihood, one of will claim the Nations Cup quota. is not doing so well and others are not present. One of BEL/ITA/NED could still miss out on the Olympics should ESP/DEN/AUT/FIN pull a great European Championships performance. Austria in fact has a very solid basis to do so.

    Surfing ISA World Games 2023

No more women heats today, so let's sum up it Africa - Sarah Baum and Zoe Steyn are the only eligible for quotas, they are in Repechage Round 4, and need at least advance to Repechage Round 6 to make top 30. Asia - Shino Matsuda is the only one in Main Round. In the Repechage Rounds, there are two other surfers, and one athlete from . Oceania - Paige Hareb is guaranteed on top 30. Saffi Vette is still alive, but if she doesn't advance, her compatriot will automatically take the quota Europe - (2x) athletes, while and have one each in Main Round. France also has a third surfer, but she is already qualified. In Repechage Round (3x), (2x), (1x). Bonvalot is competing here too, but she is already qualified.

  40. The Netherlands decline in this sport seems to be continuing, with a week of only losses. Meanwhile I'm very impressed by Thailand's results and their close match with Italy (even if Italy wasn't their strongest team). Some of the highlights on youtube seem like a really fun underdog team!

  41. the second round was won by by a score of 4-3 (at the beginning they didn't put the final gam-jeong on the scoreboard and the Gambian team had to request a video challege, which was successful and changed the outcome of that round). then, won the 3rd round 3-0 (or 3-1, if they really counted the final gam-jeong with no more time on the clock). in any case, won the match 2 rounds to 1 (that 2-2 is clearly a mistake).
