  3. Chotis "Chotis" is a dance and music style that apparently originated in Bohemia in the late 18th century, quickly making its way to other parts of Europe and America. It is characterized by its slow and graceful rhythm, and is often performed as a ballroom dance. The chotis is usually performed by couples, who dance to the accompaniment of a small orchestra or a single piano. The dance is characterized by its smooth, gliding steps and elegant movements, and is typically performed in a relaxed, leisurely manner. The chotis was very popular in Spain in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and was considered one of the most sophisticated and refined forms of Spanish dance. Although its popularity has declined in recent decades, the chotis remains an important part of Spanish cultural heritage, and is still performed and appreciated in Madrid.

  7. The quarterfinals are now set for the Canada Sevens held in Vancouver. New Zealand, Australia and the United States could potentially qualify to the Olympics by the end of this event. New Zealand just needs to avoid Great Britain or Fiji finishing four points ahead of them while Australia/United States can qualify if they get nine more points than Great Britain and Fiji

  36. Just found this interesting. MOLLY – THE WORLD’S FIRST DOPING DOG COMING TO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP! Molly, the world’s first doping detection dog, works to detect prohibited substances and helps in the selection during a doping control. Molly lives in Falun, Sweden. She is an 8-year-old Springer Spaniel work together with a dog handler, who is also a doping control officer. Molly will appear during the Bandy World Championships for Group B, Group A and Women in Sweden in the end of March and beginning of April. Molly will help with the on-site doping controls, but when is of course a secret. http://www.worldbandy.com/2023/02/28/molly-the-worlds-first-doping-dog-coming-to-world-championship/

  39. Not like St Moritz or Davos or Chamonix are not luxury ski resorts for snobs, and those aren't reasons not to have World Cup events in winter sports there. In other words: not really a relevant thing, yesterday was more of an unfortunate thing than anything else - and still better than what we've seen in all of Central Europe this season in terms of having some white snakey thing through the otherwise green landscapes.

  43. A nice surprise medal in the men's triple jump from Andrikopoulos! The level was really low for 16.58 to win silver, but it's not his fault. It's disappointing that Tsiamis couldn't get on the podium too. Also great to see our 19 yo Emmanouilidou made the semifinals of the 60m. Unfortunately she did not run well in the semifinals, her heats time of 7.26 would've been enough to qualify for the final but still it was a good debut for her with a PB. Lastly, I'm glad that Tentoglou and Stefanidi made it to the finals without any problems. Hopefully Karalis can do the same.

  44. Oceania has a direct qualifier and there's a repechage. So Oceania only needs two teams in the top 4 of the World Series to qualify all four of New Zealand, Australia, Fiji and Samoa.
