  2. Daniel Wiffen just smashed the oldest world record in the books (SC or LC) winning gold in the men’s 800m freestyle An impressive triple gold for Wiffen here (400/800/1500m free) and wonderful to see his twin Nathan join him in the finals too

  6. Apparently it's likely to be the last World Cup in Tomaszow, considering next summer a new track in Zakopane - on 1km altitude - should open it's doors. Curious how it's going to be there, athletes are....not impressed, to say the very least, with Tomaszow (in terms of being one of the most boring cities they've ever been to, and the ice this week has often been horrible) Personally I really don't mind: there's a nice atmosphere inside the arena during the races, with a nice audience being there, unlike often is the case in for example the Asian and North American legs. Plus terrible ice isn't necessarily bad, as long as the ice quality is more or less the same between the 1st and last pair of a distance, it's fine. It's not fun if every single track is always a super speedway, you also need tracks that are heavy and favour the distance athletes more than sprinters, who are favoured in the high altitude tracks.

  15. so, basically nothing changed in the women's Team Foil actually, the current situation has been consolidated after Today's event we have 3 teams () that only need mathematical confirmation of their quota place, meanwhile is safe in 4th place at the moment, but not completely out of reach from still, they have a comfortable lead over , who would be the team in danger should the North Americans sneak in into the Top 4 but since the Americas don't have a 3rd team in the top 16 of the ranking, they would still be in perfect place to earn a repechage spot so, we can say that the first 6 teams of the ranking are reasonably in place to qualify, leaving only 2 open battles: vs (and maybe , but they need more than a miracle) for the European spot and trying to save their place in the top 16 to earn the African spot (should earn another top 10 finish, there's a high risk for to drop to 17th and lose their qualifying position).

  17. Karlos Nasar broke another World Record , wasn't he supposed to be injured for a long time ? if he can lift 223kg coming off from an injury, how much he can lift when he is healthy ? and he is still a junior probably it's time for China to think about picking another weight class if they are only interested in gold medals. 89kg gold medal has already found its winner.

  25. interesting situation... have overtaken in the top 4 of the OQR, which means that earn the current status of best European team outside the direct qualifying places, meanwhile still have the Asian spot, but are pushing a few points behind and even are not completely out of contention, despite Today's bad result. the current top 3 of the OQR () and the continental spots for Africa () and Americas () look safe. Actually, only maths leave the door open for them to be upset, but it's almost impossible that anything's gonna happen to them. The only truly open fights are those concerning the last direct OQR spot and the Asian rumble. instead can only hope that both and keep going and end up in the top 4 of the OQR, that's the only way for them to qualify.

  32. That means Stage 3 of the World Cup has been completed. Host country has shown well here, much better than in the first two World Cups. and the also had their best World Cup weekend of the season so far in Beijing. was disappointing, but can hopefully make up for that next week in front of their home crowd in Seoul and also and as well as had their worst weekend of the season so far. Poland was pretty invisible this whole weekend except for the women's relay. These are the top 10 countries in the world based on the number of World Cup points they have gained this year, including points gained in relays: South Korea - 4.025 points (+1.014) Canada - 3.728 points (+1.153) China - 3.282 points (+1.505) the Netherlands - 2.686 points (+1.094) Italy - 1.873 points (+520) United States of America - 1.462 points (+476) Belgium - 1.115 points (+318) Poland - 1.028 points (+264) Japan - 992 points (+297) Kazakhstan - 779 points (+333)

  35. Our mini-mini-team succeeded to achieve 4 finals here, And in all 4 was involved Andrea Podmaníková (the blonde in the middle), finishing 5th in both 100 & 200 Breatstroke, waa finalist also in the 50 Breaststroke and main part of our 7th female 4x50 medley relay. I do believe this was the maximum we could even imagine and hope. Yeah, we can fairly guess that Podmaníková will be very likely the one who will receive our Universality quota at the Olympics, no idea who will have the male quota though

  44. Nope, the reason why muslim countries are trash is the inferior intelligence of their population (high level of inbreeding) and the high level of religious observance. Europeans freed themselves from religion centuries ago. Now countries like Algeria can keep all those resources and yet they are still extremely poor, so maybe it is time to find a new scapegoat. If you want to stop being poor, you should get rid of relgious fanaticism. Muslim regions used to be much more competitive, but then they chose religion over enlightenment. Also you should look into how much europeans actually earned with their colonies and if you want to lead an honest discussion you should also mention the cost of everything that europeans built in those countries (infrastructure). You should also look at the GDP per capita of countries that were never colonized and ask yourself why the GDP per capita in those countries isn't higher than the GDP per capita in countries that were colonized. https://bigthink.com/the-past/islam-rationality-modernity/

He admitted his error in the 200m IM (not touching with both hands in a turn), but he definitely denied the second fly kick after a turn in the 100m IM yesterday and more in general, there are too many DQs...it looks that all swimmers can't swim anymore (those of swimswam know swimming very well, but they are also really biased towards Ceccon...it's not the first time they write bad comments about him )

  47. I completely forgot to mention that, but another unbelievable historic moment for Slovak hockey happened in the NHL. Juraj Slafkovský and Šimon Nemec both started their respective game in their teams First lines on the same night. Both are 19 years old aand it happened less than 520 days from their draft. That is another quite a historic stuff you not see often

  50. I'm super impressed by Caspar Corbeau this tournament, with a 100m breaststroke bronze and now 200m breaststroke gold he has really stepped up to the elite level. I'm excited to see how Kamminga Corbeau and Tes Schouten keep developing as a training group to compete for the medals in Paris! Meanwhile Toussaint is still a force to be reckoned with in the specific context of backstroke in a European short course tournament.
