Here I go crying again after a Brazilian who really deserved a medal managed to earn one.

Didn’t the athletes who finished behind him also deserve it? And if not, how can you judge whether they deserved it or not?

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Sadly, this is the main culprit indeed.

Swimming barely had any records this time, I guess due to the pandemic. Athletics is turning into a farce, meanwhile.

Oh well, speed skating had the same in the nineties with the 'clap skate' (no idea how to translate 'klapschaats' in English otherwise :d) and nowadays that's just the norm, even though it was incredible at the time :p

Best thing is to enjoy what we see now and in a few years accept that that's what is 'normal'.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Unbelievable. Poor Rai Benjamin

McMaster runs a time only 7 people have beaten in all of history and doesn't even get a historic medal for it :p

While i do agree, that it could potentially turn into a farce sooner or later ( we will see the 200 m today :d) , Warholm has been running great and showing he could beat the WR for some years now. Others would be way more eyebrow raising and questionable.

What is his story? He had an accident in the past? All these scars on his head...

Yes, @heywoodumentioned it. When he was 10 months old, he hit a pan with boiling oil and it fell over his head and shoulders. He was hospitalized for months.

Also, the last time that a Brazilian individual won a medal on track at the Olympics was in 1988, so he broke a long lasting curse for us.
