Dorothy Weirer retiring immediately after the Olympics, won't return for the World Cup.

Sadly it was expected for the greatest Italian biathlete of all time. She has been wanting to retire for 3 years now, nowhere better than at the home Olympics. Doing it in Oslo won't have the same effect.

A home Olympic is kind of the ideal place to retire, with all due respects to Holmenkollen.

Franziska Preuss is thinking about doing the same too :(

As is understandable, in her case. Home Olympics (nearly literally in her backyard), it would be nothing but a letdown to do some regular non-special World Cups after that high.

This video somehow randomly appeared on my YT recommendations and I decided to share with it here? Does anybody, like me, saw it before and can recognize athletes who appear there? Most of them are already retired as a hint :d

Attended my first biathlon event in person (the Arctic Winter Games, in Whitehorse, Canada)

Cool sport :d

    • I hope they can kick teqball and convince the North Koreans to play the real deal  (very unlikely, I know(   Obstacle racing on the other hand, it should be a compulsory sport of the ABG
    • Lasting 2 Weeks and including 24 sports    I bet Beach Sepaktakraw(including their favourite Chinlone, Hoop), Water Skiing, Arnis, Floorball, Wushu, Weightlifting, Taekwondo, Underwater Hockey, Boxing and a few martial arts (Kickboxing/Muay Thai etc)   Obstacle Racing also should make the cut.
    • Oops. I must have misunderstood. I could have sworn I saw her jogging in a field of other men. I assumed she had caught up to some of the slower men. (I admittedly wasn't watching closely.)
    • The women started earlier, it was a race without any men participating.
    • Looking forward to this competition starting tomorrow! Will be nice to see some other countries participate. USA women start with Namibia tomorrow.
    • This came out on the official website yesterday. Updated list of events and competition schedules in Japanese.   Padel and Teqball are on the schedules. Looks like two events for Padel and five for Teqball.   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会競技プログラム.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会デイリースケジュール.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会セッションスケジュール.pdf   On the sports programme PDF, Padel is #25 and Teqball is #38.
    • looks like the agreement is the international federations are in fact hosting the event, not the AG organizers, so everything is up to them to make it happen.   Teqball is now confirmed to have 5 events (singles and doubles) does it mean easy 5 gold medals for Thailand ?   Padel is not 100% confirmed yet. I assume there are still talks ongoing between the IF and the Japanese organizers.
    • I feel like this year's Eurovision is more wide open than ever 😂   There isn't a clear favorite, and that makes everything more exciting. Finland is looking strong, sure, but Ukraine always knows how to surprise people and connect with them. I was checking out the odds a bit, and I was struck by how quickly they're rising.   By the way, I found a site that compares the odds pretty clearly: https://casasdeapuestaseurovision.com/   It’s nothing special, but it gives you an idea of how things are shaping up before the semifinals. Although we all know how this goes… at Eurovision, everything can change in a matter of minutes
