Is this 'alive' in your countries in terms of visibility? Dutch NOS sure has some articles about it on their website, but in terms of actually showing stuff, it seems like it'll stay with a few minutes in the daily sports news and probably a daily live stream on their website, which you can't watch on-demand (or even pause) and so you either watch it live, or you don't watch it at all.

Mostly feels like NOS is kind of ignoring it, which makes me curious about other countries. Curious in the sense that hopefully there will be good options to see especially stuff like athletics, swimming, track cycling (and of course road, but we've got Belgian TV for that no doubt) and possibly rowing.

:IRL national broadcaster RTE has 3 hours live coverage today on RTE 2 (FTA channel that shows all sport). Coverage of the rowing heats currently going on are available on a secondary News channel and via stream on their player/website too.

Tomorrow they're live for 5 hours. Next Monday (random day) they're showing 7 hours live.

For context they didn't cover the World Athletics championship (or world swimming, world rowing in previous years, world gymnastics etc)

very much alive...

our public TV (RAI) is live all day long on Raisport+ HD and also in the afternoon (2 p.m. - 8 p.m.) on Rai2 HD...

then they have additional feeds on Raiplay (the OTT service)...

the Acquatics Euros are also live on sky Italia for the first time (so, double coverage)...

I think the only discipline that is not going to be broadcasted at all is BMX Freestyle (and I don't blame any of our media for ignoring that farce)...

RTVS schedule indicates they will broadcast All Athletics sessions, M Cycling Road Race, M Triathlon race, Finals of Canoeing Sprint, a couple of Track Cycling sessions and for some reason also Sports Climbing including todays qualifiers lol, In replay they have both MTB and Table Tennis finals.

No rowing, BMX and Beach Volley

but quite hard to believe it, since the hockey U20 WCh have obviously priority and they pretend broadcasting all games from Quarterfinals on, For example the Wednesday 17th, there all 4 QF scheduled, so the Evening Athletics sesiion will have just some 30 minutes highlights of the day probably

BMX Freestyle is fully covered by Eurosport on their player.

I firmly believe Europe does not need any multi-sports games. European Championships across many sports are far too competitive and can stand on their own two feet, and incorporating them into a bigger event does more damage than good, especially when participation restrictions come in.

Sure, Pan American Games function well with 8 slalom canoeists, 8 wrestlers or 6 sail boats per event, but that just can't fly in Europe without turning the event into some YOG-like joke.

I think that’s a good point. If you’re going to have a 4700 athlete overall cap, then the small nations will miss out. As we know in many sports, it is actually important for several reasons to be ranked 10 not 11, 19 not 21 etc etc

    • Apparently this season will be last one in Kamil Stoch career if his results wont be enough good for his standards.
    • Such a nice one for Colturi ! That was fun. It almost looked like a script with the cameras focusing on Colturi a couple of times before her first run and showcasing the potential of youngster and she didn't disappoint.      I hope Colturi skis for Albania forever. So much fun to cheer her with the Albanian flag.    I don't get it why everyone is being so critical of Colturi, you got no right to criticize a personal decision, as most European nations use imported athletes in many sports like wrestling and cheer them on like their.   Would you spend hours criticizing Frank Chamizo for switching to Italy rather than playing for Cuba?

    • It may also be that Ceccerelli saw that the conditions in the Italian youth teams were very poor and that is why she insisted on setting up her own team (the results of young Italian skiers unfortunately confirm this). A private team will always be better than a team with 10-12 skiers with max. 3-4 coaches, a one doctor and a physiotherapist. Colturi is the only skier in her team and she has several coaches, a masseur, a doctor etc. Of course, it costs money, but since the parents are famous and have money + Red Bull got involved. I don't understand why she can't start for Italy again? Red Bull should care more that Colturi starts in Cortina under the Italian flag than the Albanian one + Red Bull, as a brand, always has a bigger sales market in Italy with a population of 60 million than in small Albania. I hope that this can still be reversed by next year. For this we need talks between the federation + Colturi's parents + Red Bull + possibly the Italian Olympic Committee. Colturi may be a skier equal to Brignone or even better in the future. We can't lose her, so we have to do now!
    • I`m very disappointed with this weekend. Only becouse of Ghiotto form I`m happy. Unfortunately, the women's team will not function well if Lollobrigida skips most of the training camps and Fontana starts alternately in short tack and long track. It will end with her not winning any medals here or there, because it`s already clear that it will be very difficult to achieve good results in long track. I hope that she understands this, because in short track she has a real chance of winning medals in the women's relay and the mixed relay but in long track not.
    • Tragic performance of the Italian women's team - last place and probably something bad happened at the start. There are so few starts in the team that it will be a problem to even qualify for the World Championships - 8 best teams. After Lollobrigida's return and Fontana's addition, I was counting on much more, but it seems that there are too few joint trainings. With individual quality, we have no right to lose to the Czechs without Sablikova, or anonymous Korea. And unfortunately this start will count for a lot, because there are only 2 more and our chances of playing at the World Championships are minimal. In my opinion with Fontana going from Short Track to Long Trackand vice versa, we won't be much use in the team. Here great teamwork is needed, not improvisation. As of today, there is very little chance that we will qualify the women's team for the games.
    • men advanced to Division A for the first time since 2018 (when they went 1-8). Don't expect much progress next year
    • Ok, but there we are talking about a person who has parents from different countries. Colturi has nothing to do with Albania.
    • There are few people here from Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.
