Swimming FINA Short Course World Championships 2021

So far we had 4th, 7th, and 7th places in our three finals. Now we have another two finals.

 

Too bad Gkolomeev isn't here, he really could've won a medal.

Finally a medal for us... But this is still very disappointing. If Nicholas somehow can't win gold tomorrow, this will be the worst short course worlds for Brazil in a long time.

Probably nobody will notice it, but the whole team was excluded from the rest of the championships, becaus of 4 positive athletes (Positive I mean, Covid obviously)

 

The complete negative tested part of the team have to fly home tomorrow morning. the 4 positive athletes will have to stay in isolation in the hotel room. what a nice christmas they will spend this year...

Nice to see a Canadian man winning a medal (that's not a mixed relay) in swimming. Hopefully they will continue to grow like the women.

The Canadian team has been performing incredibly here. Maggie MacNeil's World Record was truly an impressive feat.

The team from  was also excluded from the competition after four of its swimmers tested positive for Covid

Three medals for  in the end: one from a 41 yo, another one from a 35 yo and a bronze medal in the men's 4x200 m relay. Thankfully, the relay team is very young, but we desperately need new faces in our swimming team. Our brighter days are gone and now we have to try everything.

The past decade or so has just been an incredible turnaround for Canadian swimming. This might be the best the team has ever looked entering a quad.
