  1. Past hour
  2. Sad for Sanita but good to get the women's four qualified at least. That brings us to around 110 quotas (not exact since the relay spots in athletics and swimming make it hard to be exact). I think it's looking more likely we will be closer to 125 athletes than 130 athletes which is still mightily impressive. 2024 has been a strange year for us so far, it's so hard to gauge where we are at in terms of medal hopes.
  3. The Canadian was unlucky too lose her bronze medal match. The Dutch commentators could not understand why she did not get the score and why her opponent did not get any shidos.
  4. I cant remember names but whitewashing french athletes from doping happened many times
  5. Schedule (only competition days as of today) and venues for 2025 World Games are (finally) available: https://www.theworldgames.org/news/The-World-Games-2025-33/RoadToChengdu2025-Venues-and-competition-days-finalised-2534
  6. Adding onto that, right now the pools would look something like this Pool A: Pool B: Pool C:
  7. Unfortunately, Van Lieshout (WRL1) comes at the Games in the same quarter as Japan's Takaichi (WRL8). An unfortunate side effect of her fantastic world title.
  8. I fear some geography has gone wrong by the way, here's the Conference Finals Schedule https://www.nhl.com/news/2024-nhl-conference-finals-schedule
  9. Canada defeat Turkey 3-1 in match 1 of Men’s VNL. First set score looks bad, and perhaps it was partly due to them being rusty but Turkey were also on fire digging everything. McCarthy was a pleasant surprise, and Maar was on fire from the service-line. We’ve already qualified for the Olympics but with the 6.86 ranking points we gain today, we improve our chances of getting into a more favorable pot by closing the gap to Cuba/Germany/Serbia. Side note, not sure why Schnitzer is the reserve, he’s one of the top options on this team.
  10. lost outside hitter Elena Pietrini for at least the entire Summer 2024 (VNL, but also Olympics) official reason is still undisclosed, but it should be related to her well known back problems (she might need surgery)
  11. there's no draw in volleyball it's only about the world ranking (serpentine system is used)
  12. I enjoyed the judo competition today very much. Especially Joanne van Lieshout, but also the Polish girl Szymanska ... wow!! What a beautiful techniques she used. Tito Grigalashvili is always nice to watch, a well deserved third world title for him.
  13. Elena Pietrini (Volleyball) official reason is still undisclosed, but most likely it's about her well known back problems (she might need surgery)
  14. but a lot of podiums with 2 out of 3 athletes coming from the same Country
  15. Oops Bahamas has so many good hurdlers, must’ve got her confused with someone else
  16. It's a different injury that prevented Kerr from playing much at the last World Cup? At least they don't have to keep it a secret for ticket sales or something.
  17. BMX Racing Olympic Qualification Rankings updated as of May 21st, 2024
  18. Scores after 1st Period Group A (Prague Arena - PRAGUE) Finland - Switzerland : 0-0 (0-0, -, -) Group B (Ostrava Arena - OSTRAVA) Sweden - Slovakia : 1-0 (1-0, -, -) 02:20 Lucas RAYMOND (Hedman, Kempe) 1:0
  19. Today
  20. What an awful camera work this entire event Last race didn't even have the finish camera at all, and the others that did had the camera at either a very weird angle or without clearly showing the line
  21. men's -81kg Gold: Tato Grigalashvili Silver: (RUS) Timur Arbuzov Bronze: Lee Joon Hwan & Somon Makhmadbekov Full Draw https://www.ijf.org/competition/2787/draw?id_weight=4
  22. women's -63kg Gold: Joanne Van Lieshout Silver: Angelika Szymanska Bronze: Clarisse Agbegnenou & Laura Fazliu Full Draw https://www.ijf.org/competition/2787/draw?id_weight=11
  23. and we're still without a single gold medal among the men, all those we won are in the female division
  24. Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard (women’s 63kg) and Francois Gauthier-Drapeau (men’s 81kg) have officially qualified for Paris in judo through the Olympic Rankings!
