And it's a silver for Rodolpho Riskalla, HUGE improvement from the Rio Paralympics I hope Sergio Oliva can get a medal too.

A huge mess is happening with FIBA World Cup qualification match today. So the Virgin Islands team didn't know visas were necessary to enter Brazil, but after an effort by the Brazilian Basketball Confederation + the Brazilian Olympic Committee, visas were send to the athletes (who were in Caracas after as match versus Venezuela) and everything was fine... except that yesterday the Virgin Islands team missed their connection flight in Colombia and can't possibly arrive on time for the match in Brazil. Which means Brazil will win the match by w/o

Peru gymnasts are not very good, it's a shame. I think we'll see a lot of bad results coming from the host nation at next year Pan American Games. -

Brazil won 3 matches against Netherlands before WC and today lost to their team with players from the bench. Really bad match from our players and, of course, the best match by the dutch team so far. It's a surprise, but I wonder if everything that happened after last match had any influence in this result - meaning, this is not an united team, and I don't know if it can be.

I'm sorry but not even Russia can make a exciting routine of 3 balls + 2 ropes. These apparatus are so boring -
Not that I know of, but he's really closed about his personal life and world views, so who knows...

As far as I'm concerned, there are three gay players in the team (two of them are quite open about this in their instagram accounts), so it's sad to see them playing with openly homophobic guys. Maurício Souza has said in the past thay being gay is "not normal" among other disgraceful remarks. William Arjona JUST joked about a gay kiss in one of our telenovelas (it's funny that he's at the World Championship and STILL has time to worry about a harmless kiss). So while I want to support the team (it's Brazil after all), I can't get much excited about them - in any competition really (I didn't even care about the Olympic gold other than a thing that helped us at the medal table). On the other hand, I want to support some of the guys. It's a strange feeling, something that I can't get my head around, but probably one of the reasons I cheer much more for our women's team.

Honestly? I thought it wasn't that great? The music was really mismatched with the routine in some moments. -

Apparently the qualifications will determine the medalists in AA and all apparatus? What a strange format -
I think it should be +4 for each nation? (2 men and 2 women) Looking at the system, qualification for Triathlon is a very very easy

He retired in 2015 after the 4 Pan American titles, moving on to other things (he owns a skating school, is a commentator for SporTV, and won the TV show Exathlon in Brazil). Which means, of course, that we will have a new champion for the first time this century (not to jinx it, but I think Gustavo Casado has a some chance of keeping the gold medal for Brazil)

So apparently Paraguay won the men's title? If he manages to repeat this result next year, it will be Paraguay's first gold ever at the Pan American Games!
