  1. Just a fun fact. Graziela Paulino (who won the women's individual recurve in archery) is indigenous. In 2016, the athlete from Amazon tried to be the first indigenous person to represent Brazil in the Olympic Games, but didn't qualify. Maybe she has a chance for 2020...
  2. Many more to come with Diving, Boxing, Wrestling... they'll definitely finish in first place.
  3. Colombia 1 gold ahead of Brazil in the medal table. Again an uneventful day, but next 4 days will be really interesting with a little over 150 events to go.
  4. She was also the oldest athlete from our delegation in Rio 2016, I think.
  5. Couldn't agree more. With literally hundreds of events to go, they've picked only 4 sports to award medals today. Disappointing.
  6. Dani Piedade (Handball), world champion in 2013, announced her retirement yesterday.
  7. We're not even halfway through all events yet (174 out of 374 were completed so far), so I think we're only gonna have some idea about final positions in the medal table after Athletics starts on Tuesday.
  8. Not a great day for Brazil (to say the least), which was saved at the last minute with a unexpected bronze medal in Track Cycling - otherwise it would be 0 medals for us. Tomorrow won't be a great day either with only a few outside chances. Strange that the organization didn't schedule many events for Friday and Saturday.
  9. BTW, in a sports group with brazilian fans, this match was more followed/celebrated than most brazilian golds so far
  10. As expected, Brazil and Argentina have qualified for the Pan American Games in women's handball.
  11. BTW, I think they cancelled the Women's Water Polo tournament prior to the Games because it had only 3 nations, so maybe the new rule to have a competition is 4.
  12. I think so. The Women's +78kg in Judo also have only 4 nations and they awarded medals. (unless the rule for individual events is different)
  13. Brazil's golden sports (Artistic Gymnastics/Swimming) have ended today and we're only 5 golds ahead of Colombia. The next days will be interesting, but I think Colombia has the upper hand with Track Cycling just starting.
  14. Did you like it? I think it's a good mascot.
  15. Okay, but you have to admit we were pretty lucky today in Pommel Horse and Women's Vault. Even if we have bad moments tomorrow, we already had these lucky moments today.
  16. Argentina should easily beat Uruguay but it didn't?
  17. Even though the site doesn't show, I think all Karate events have a bronze medal repechage, where the losing semifinalists face the quarterfinalists who lost to one of the two finalists. I don't know if I'm making myself clear, but I think it's similar to the Taekwondo Olympic competition format.
  18. Tomorrow we will know the qualified Rugby teams for the Pan American Games. In Men's we have 2 spots (Argentina was already qualified). One should go to Chile and the other will go to Uruguay or Brazil - probably Uruguay. For Women's, it will be Argentina vs Brazil for the single spot. Both have very similar results so far, so it will be a interesting match.
  19. I will not generalize brazilian fans = bad fans. I'm sorry, but that's a bridge too far.
  20. That's what I thought, maybe something with the fans. Brazilian gymnastics fans are the WORST - except @thiago_simoes
  21. Are you more optimistic now? It seems like my prediction of 1. Colombia / 2. Brazil / 3. Argentina was correct.
