Da quello che ho capito esistono 4 tipologie di eventi che vanno ad incidere sul valore dei punti. L'evento che vale di più è la WC, ovvero la coppa del mondo. La classe 1 e la classe 2 sono equiparabili ai continental del ciclismo su stada. L'ultimo livello sono invece i NC, ovvero i campionati nazionali. 

Quando si analizzano i risultati della scherma non si può non tenere presente che il livello globale di questo sport è cresciuto in maniera esponenziale negli ultimi 15 anni, altrimenti si rischia di incorrere in analisi catastrofiche che non rappresentano la realtà .Detto questo in 4 prove a squadre su 6 siamo ampiamente da podio tutt' oggi.

I read on Wikipedia that Israel and Palestine would like to join but they will only do it together. As far as concerns Portugal, technically it is not over Mediterranean, this is true, but its history is totally bind to it: this also is a factor that I considered in saying that. 
 
As regards Gibraltar, that would be nice to have a team from there: I suppose Spain would support them rather than oppose to it; honestly, however, I don't think Gibraltar is interested in it

Well, they are not as good as they were in for example  2006-2010 where they got bronze in World Championship, World Cup or Euro Championship, but they are still a very good team, definitely better than Japan or China. The distribution of teams is awful, but the Bulgarian Federation probably simply could not afford to buy their spot, unlike Japanese or Chinese federations.
