When I read this RUS BLR ASIA news, I think about what Orwell once wrote "Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence: in other words it is war minus the shooting." Papers in POL have reminded me this quote recently. And I agree that CHN can't have "AUS" and RUS at the same time, that would be unfair ;-) That would be easier for POL if we don't have RUS and BLR in continental quali as well, quite obvious...

Tbh, there are 2 reasons why I consider skipping these games and focus on Winter 26. Firstly, i am really worried about safety issues. Post-euro 16 Nice was total disaster. we could see how awful and amateurish French police and agencies are and how easily they loose their focus within days after the big event ends at least the Olympics are not on july 14th this time but this idea for opening ceremony is not good for safety reasons, i will not attend for sure even if sb give me golden circle tickets but that are my thoughts for now maybe i change my mind when i spend june 23 in Paris i don’t think so though

Although you must remember than some Polish athletes keep telling that once they knew they won't participate in real olympics in 1984, they didn't put too much effort into the 1984 Friendships.

In this brand new but rather vintage thread I'd like to discuss how the results in certain events would look like if every NOC took part in 1984 olympics. In my olympics data archive I have a lot info on that games. Could be interesting. This vintage topic may be very current when it comes to Paris. No RUS? No BLR?
