  1. Yes, it's possible. Anyone with an Olympic qualifying time in the 800m or 1500m pool events can also enter as long as they don't exceed the maximum of two athletes per NOC.
  2. Looking at the entry lists, I see that Australia is the only nation from Oceania entered in the men's 10km event so I believe they've already earned a quota. Same thing is true in the women's event but Australia already qualified through the 2023 edition so that quota will get reallocated.

  4. I must admit, I stopped caring about the all-star game about 8 years ago . Though the skills competition format seems to be more interesting this year so maybe I'll tune in for a bit to watch that.

  9. Could whoever moved all these posts move them to the version 2 quota simulation instead?
  10. At the beginning of the year, I predicted Lithuania to qualify 61 athletes. The biggest factors will be whether or not you guys can qualify a men's basketball team, a men's 3x3 basketball team and a men's 4x200m relay in swimming.
  11. 2024 Flanders Swimming Cup - Antwerp (BEL) January 19th - January 21st 2024 Meet Results No new OQTs were achieved
  12. If you go to the World Aquatics social media pages, they've started to post the top 3 seeds in each event. That's the closest thing we have to an entry list so far.
  13. Meanwhile, we have some new qualifications in the women's shorter freestyle distances. The Australians better watch out
  14. You're right, thanks! Forgot to check the heat results

  17. Okay, time for another long stats post. Despite the great work that they've done, SwimSwam has often a few controversial rankings every year. Most of that can be attributed to American bias and a bigger emphasis on short course racing (especially in NCAA) than other people. I decided to attempt to build my own rankings model for women that factors in their versatility and how fast they were compared to the rest of their competition. There are a couple of flaws though. The first is that it doesn't factor in 2024 potential and two, it's based on FINA points which themselves are based on world records. As a result, certain events in which someone smashes the world record (50m butterfly) for example, shatters the points system. I'll be sure to make improvements next year if I do this again. Below, you'll find a breakdown of SwimSwams rankings in sections of 10 swimmers each. I've listed my rankings of each swimmer in brackets. #100-99: #90-81 #80-71 #70-61
  18. This happens in every sport whenever some analyst posts their athlete/team rankings. Ultimately, these kinds of rankings are very subjective so there'll always be lot's of disagreement especially in the bottom part of the rankings where there's more variance. Having said that, I've definitely noticed that the swimswam comments section can be very toxic compared to other platforms.
  19. SwimSwam started to release their top 100 male and female swimmers for 2024. Men #100-91 Men #90-81 Women #100-91 Women #90-81 Women #80-71 Women #70-61
  20. Nice silver medal for him
  21. So World Aquatics said they would publish the final qualification calendar by today but looking at the list of events, I don't see anything from France, Germany, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Brazil, China, South Korea, or all of Africa.

  23. Alexy went 48.24 in the 100 Free. Auboeck went 3:46.78 in the 400 Free. I think that's it though.
  24. A 2:19 200m breaststroke in January is absolutely nuts
