  1. Really high level on display in the men's big air final. 6 scores over 90+ just in round 1.
  2. Women's Quotas: 3 quotas: 2 quotas: 1 quota: are able to send another skater to the final qualifier. One quota from these world championships will be reallocated to the final qualifier because Switzerland wasn't able to fulfill the requirements for two skaters.
  3. NOC's qualified for the free dance (and eligible for earn Olympic quotas): x3 x3 x2 x2 x2 x2 20 teams qualified but only 19 will earn quotas.
  4. Looks like Fabbri/Ayer are in track to be the first team to miss the free dance meaning they would have to qualify at the final qualifier of the top two pairs get enough placement points to earn 3 quotas
  5. World championships gold for Grondin!
  6. Pairs Quotas: 2 quotas: 1 quota: are able to enter another team at the final qualifying competition
  7. So all earned at least one men's quota. have the opportunity to earn 3 quotas have the opportunity to earn two quotas
  8. Looks like Vinokur will miss a quota by 0.16 points
  9. The following NOC's qualified for the pairs free skate and are eligible for quotas. 16 quotas will be determined tomorrow night: (x2) (x2) (x2) (x3)
  10. The good news: All 3 pairs qualified for the free skate meaning that we would qualify 3 pairs outright if they met the performance requirements tomorrow in the free skate. The bad news: Going to be tough to meet those requirements. To qualify 3 pairs, we would need our top two pairs teams to have a combined placement score of 13 or lower. Currently, our top two pairs have a combined placement score of 17.
  11. In CBC's defense, the ISU has arguably the most poorly worded qualification systems of any sports federation
  12. Not quite. You can only earn two quotas if you have two or three skaters in the free program. Canada only has one so they'll get the chance to qualify another through the final qualifier.
  13. Madeline Schizas had a great day at figure skating worlds and sits in sixth after the short program. She's officially earned one women's quota on figure skating but could give Canada the opportunity to send a skater to the final qualification event if she finishes in the top 10
  14. She qualified. Congrats!
  15. I think you have to advance to the free skate to have a chance at a quota. An extra men's quota was allocated at the final qualifier 4 years ago because China didn't meet the requirements to send two skaters to the Olympics despite both of them qualifying for the free skate.
  16. Some new basic quotas. Cyprus officially qualified their first athlete FIS | Andrea LOIZIDOU - Athlete Biography - Alpine Skiing FIS | Mialitiana CLERC - Athlete Biography - Alpine Skiing FIS | Jana ATANASOVSKA - Athlete Biography - Alpine Skiing FIS | Vanina GUERILLOT - Athlete Biography - Alpine Skiing
  17. Liliane Gagnon finished 2nd in the U23 World Cup Standings. Sonjaa Schmidt finished 5th and Alison Mackie finished 8th.
  18. The gap between the two countries is around 46 points. If the Italian skiers have the better day tomorrow overall, then Italy should be able to take back 5th place
  19. USA passed Italy for 5th in the men's nations rankings giving them an extra Olympic quota. and thanks to having enough athletes to be able to compete in the team sprint, China is back ahead of Andorra in the women's rankings for 20th place by 7 points and since none no athletes from either country are competing tomorrow, that's how it'll finish.
  20. Here's how the rankings for the last 12 spots look like right now. To simplify things, I only took the top 2 athletes of each NOC that isn't qualified for that gender. 22. There were 3 male jumpers at the junior world championships. None qualified for the 2nd round. Hopefully we can see them in the world cup or even the Continental cup soon
  23. At this time last week, we had one world championship medal this year in winter Olympic events. Now we're at 20.
