I'll post my predictions sometime in Mid June when psych sheets for US trials come out. As of now, I would expect around 80% of the names above to make the Olympic team. Of course the big stars like Ledecky, Smith, Douglass, Finke, Murphy, etc. should have no problem qualifying. However, given the depth that the US has, the rapid progression of many of their young talents and a lot of spots being wide open (2nd spot in men's 200 back, women's 200 fly, women's long distance for example), I would expect a few new names on the Olympic team. And of course, as you mentioned, Dressel's status will have to be monitored closely. He's competing this upcoming weekend at a the Pro Swim Series so we'll get a better idea of his progression their.

Looks like the US has found their distance superstar of the future. Yesterday, Luka Mijatovic swam 1:49.63 in the 200m freestyle, to break the National Age Group Record and the Australian Age Group Record set by Ian Thorpe. He also swam 4:24.20 in the 400m IM to break Michael Phelps's National Age Group Record. Also owns the National Age Group Records in the 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle.

While not as big of an issue as morning finals was, this is still a bad look from World Aquatics. Giving more time between the men's 200m fly and breast semis is clearly to help Leon Marchand. Giving more time between the women's 200 fly final and 200 back semis is clearly to help Regan Smith. Guess what? Both athletes are coached by Bob Bowman. One coach shouldn't be allowed to have such a say in the schedule especially this close to the games after the scheduled been out for well over a year. I'm sure Summer McIntosh and her coaches would love to have the 400 IM and 200 free on separate days but that's not going to get changed. It sets a bad precedent going forward as well. In 2028, we could see the schedule Taylor made for the star American swimmers.

Other than a long course world record, she's accomplished everything you can in this sport. Will never forget waking up at 4 in 2019 to see her upset Sjoestroem in the 100 fly and then becoming an Olympic Champion two years later. She'll always be a legend.
