  1. That very much boggled my mind as well, I was quietly yelling at them to at the very least go check on him.. Just saw the replay by the way and yeah, that knee is gone. Jesus, it's that kind of accident where one's lower leg moves completely independent from the upper leg, that's horrible. I really hope the treatment took so long because of that, and not because of something more threatening to his overall health.
  2. Damn, what a fall. Always gives this 'weak' feeling in the stomach when someone stays down without any movement for so long, then is treated for so long and then the helicopter flies in..
  3. Because there was some sense that the account of the head of state had a certain kind of value. It's gone from very shitty and full of lies to outright dangerous rather quickly though.
  4. Surely you can watch them later though? Just avoid social media and the relevant threads on Totallympics (hoping nobody decides to annoyingly post about other sports' results in the wrong threads) and then catch up with Eurosport Player or Eurovision or wherever you might record the races

  6. Eythora Thorsdottir might deliberately sit out the Olympics. Her coach, Patrick Kiens, is no longer welcome in any role at the national team and the federation is putting pressure on their club to let him go as well - he was put aside due to "disrespectful behaviour towards other coaches, not being a team player and communicating badly". Thorsdottir has been working with him since 2008 and for her it's clear: "I'm going to the Olympics with him or I'm not going to the Olympics at all." So yeah, bit of emotional drama stuff.
  7. This is rather hilarious, zero retweets and likes for the egomaniac
  8. Trump throwing more fuel on the fire with his 'calming them down speech'
  9. By both Democrats and Republicans. "The shining example of democracy in the world." It never has been and never will be.
  10. It was more about the photo, which says enough by itself.
  11. It is funny how you manage to downplay even what is basically a terrorist attack by anarchists by some nearly century-old example.
  12. Oh my.
  13. It has reached the level where I'd keep watching until deep in the night despite having a 13-hour workday coming up tomorrow.
  14. Reports of 'an armed standoff at the House front door'. Jeez, House of Cards writers would see the scenario be thrown in the trash and deemed too unrealistic.
  15. Aaaaand the terrorists are in. Also, Trump's expected attack on Pence has started.
  16. Wow, this is utterly bizarre. Trump supporters have turned Washington DC into scenes one is more used to seeing in third world country coups. Completely absurd, the Capitol being stormed by these semi-terrorists is one of the most insane things I've seen in quite a while, at least in a (so-called) developed country.
  17. Starting to think the slow start in the Netherlands might not have been as bad as people thought it was, considering the problems countries that started as fast as possible seem to be having. Even worse, apparently in Florida people are sleeping on the street just to get a vaccine?! First come, first served is insane in a situation like this, just call people up based on registries or something and start with that.
  18. Thank you, Mister President, for this January 5th 2020 statement on something Pence supposedly said yesterday or the day before.
  19. Ah, thanks No I knew it was an exercise but other than situps and pushups I don't know the name of any of them, so the fault was on me and my knowledge
  20. Awesome win for Diggins, and the way she finishes basically every race easily makes her one of my favourite athletes, always absolutely all-in
  21. 'did chins'? I'm sure it must be something like situps or some exercise, but I can't really figure out which one
  22. Case in point: on the biggest Dutch forum, someone who had been a well-known moderator (different than being the owner/admin of course, but that's besides the point) for 17 years hadn't posted for a few weeks (which is a rarity) and in the past weekend it was found out he had passed away, only 49 years old. Things can happen suddenly, and after the initial shock people would want to know if and how a site is going to continue.
  23. 11, 12 and 10 darts to win set 6, dear lord. Highest ever set average, 136.6
