  1. Everything on Geraghty-Moats. Basically all others are still just kids and the few who aren't shouldn't be close to her level. Interesting to see how the likes of Jenny Nowak and Lisa Hirner will do, they've been up there since they were 14 or 15 and women's NC slowly started in the COC I think. Same participants now of course, basically, but they could be the first stars once they grow up physically and get past the already adult Geraghty-Moats. Also, there's a Malacinski I see, just like in the (men's) COC in Park City last weekend. I'm guessing her brother, hopefully she'll do as well as he did there
  2. Apparently the Hungarian government led by Viktor Orban has stepped back in time and adopted a law that forbids gay couples to adopt children. I mean, it can hardly be called a surprise coming where it's coming from, but wow. Also the constitution has apparently undergone a change backwards, defining 'family' as the 'union of a father who is a man and a mother who is a woman'.
  3. Fiji is going to go through hell in the next 24 hours, a hurricane on the edge of category 4/5 will make landfall and basically hit the whole country head-on. Only capital Suva might be somewhat spared because of it's slightly protected location.
  4. Yeah, that whole thing made dressage go from "most people don't care, some people like it" to "most people despise it, some don't care and a few like it" here. Everyone knew horses are often seen as nothing but sellable equipment and material by their owners, sadly, but that made it clearer than anything had done before in the Netherlands.
  5. [hide] Semifinals December 18th, 2020 4 Nations, the 2 Winners from each Semifinal will qualify for the Final. The 2 losers from each Semifinal will play the Third Place Match. Semifinals Date & Time (GMT +1) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 December 18th 2020, h. 18:00 France 2 Croatia December 18th 2020, h. 20:30 Norway 5 Denmark [/hide]
  6. Raymond van Barneveld was being all "Wright should focus more on the game instead of the outfits" and then Wright comes up with an even more extravagant and weird look than normal Luckily RayBar never does anything weird like that, he's always normal.
  7. I was wondering the same thing Also, that one of last weekend wasn't even on the original IBSF calendar, so I feel like the whole thing has changed a bit
  8. Very emotional interview with Portela. Lost a lot of people during this year, his daughter spent time in the hospital and he thought of quitting darts. "This was supposed to be my last match and then I won."
  9. First ever South American player to win a match at the world championships
  10. Edward Gal's wonder horse Totilas has died today, aged 20 https://www.rtlnieuws.nl/sport/artikel/5203387/totilas-overleden-paard-dressuur-koliek Still such a shame how this all ended up after the time with Gal..
  11. Wait, what happened?
  12. Waiting for the Trump campaign to say the votes of *insert some random states Biden won* shouldn't count because....who knows, maybe the ink in their pens was made by a company owned by someone who once got a hotdog in a stand owned by a Cuban and so is basically a commie spy
  13. One man and one woman in the fields of 63 and 32 didn't finish their qualifying run in the skicross in Arosa yesterday and so these two will be the only ones who can't start today and tomorrow. That's...sad
  14. I really wish I could say I agree, but she needs to not only keep this up, but improve a whole lot more to get that top-8 finish in a World Cup..
  15. Definitely a deserved win for Shiffrin and really, really nice to see her take her first win after losing her dad - that must have been one hell of a moment for her. Moments like this are what make sports so great She did make excellent use of the mistakes of her main competitors though
  16. Steve Beaton against Diogo Portela, that sucks, I want both to win
  17. Yes, specifically when being logged in. There was an authorization issue leading to all kinds of problems, but when you were not logged in, everything was fine (I noticed I couldn't open YouTube on my phone, where I'm logged in, but I could on my work laptop, where I'm not logged in)
  18. Reit im Winkl FIS races https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/event-details.html?sectorcode=CC&eventid=47616&seasoncode=2021 Although they're postponed (for now) instead of cancelled. The only significant chance at having some preparation races before the cross-country skiing world championships for our resident Brazilian, but alright, we'll try and simulate some races on the Veluwe
  19. 'Hard lockdown' incoming from tonight on, apparently, although I'm still annoyed by the use of the term lockdown (Wuhan had a lockdown). Partially due to a huge increase in new daily cases (going from 6k earlier in the month to nearly 10k a day now) and partially because of Germany's decision to close a whole lot of stuff tihs week, which would otherwise lead to half of Germany going to the Netherlands - history has shown that's not a good idea. Apparently only supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacies and such will remain open, but that's all your standard 2020 stuff in Europe/the world anyway No way gyms remain open, so we'll have to improvise (maybe with some tyres or heavy bags) for a certain Brazilian Totallympian to keep up the strength training if coming here this week actually works out
  20. These were the problems last time. I spent God knows how many hours trying to find this list and even trying to keep it updated myself (because the points per race are always posted after every race, but the total list is a non-published secret even though it's incredibly important once you look outside of the top nations), but all I kept finding was one list from one trimester which happened to be somewhere on Biathlon Canada's website. One would think an important list, on which - among others - Olympic qualifying depends for a number of athletes, would not be impossible to find. Especially from a federation which generally has a very good results and PDF's system.
  21. In terms of total quota per nation, I think so. There might also be individual spots again like last time, for a small number of athletes from nations outside of the top-X, which are handed out based on a ranking that's not publicly available (the IBU Qualifying Points List).
  22. Aquamarijn sounded so Dutch, but apparently not. My surprise was fairly big when seeing Yvonne Losos de Muniz - who really looks as Caucasian as people can look - was born in Nigeria It's just not what I expected, but interesting
  23. I just wanted to avoid you or someone realizing a possible mistake later and having to search for where the error was, it was only meant helpful
  24. Just pointing towards the Road to Beijing thing: not sure what the 'rules' for that are on Totallympics, but these are non-Olympic events
