  1. Clarey in the lead, STOP THE COUNT!
  2. At least it makes for easy breakfast watching while catching up with some other sports
  3. Here we go, Streif Part II
  4. Hopefully it'll be all fine for the whole course and not a start after the Mausefalle or some crap like that..
  5. Finally! Last time he was close, but even making a World Cup final wasn't enough First ever Dutch snowboard cross win
  6. I wonder how many Russians were dumped in Moldova lately. This guy, Pavel Magazeev last season (after a 10-year absence), Alina Stremous who appeared out of absolutely nowhere and is consistently posting top skiing times...
  7. Marbles. Because hype.
  8. Last week Tom Dumoulin said he was looking forward to the season. Tour de France, Olympics and world championships were the main goals. Today he announced he's going to take a break in his career for an unknown period of time, so that's most likely it for at least this year.
  9. Yesterday a new Dutch TV program started: Marble Mania, I'm sure you can all guess what it's about 1.4 million viewers, which is very, very big for a new show at that time slot (20.30h). Not a fan of the whole commercial aspect after it was a fun little obscure thing online for years, but alright. The 'creator', John de Mol, wants to turn it into an international hit, just like he already did with Big Brother and The Voice.
  10. I'd still like for someone to come up with statistics per shot and statistics per shot for athletes who started with 19 hits and/or who are in with a podium chance, curious to see whether or not there really is a lower average for the last shot(s) - also compared with the other standing shots, since that's harder than prone anyway. Chances are there's not as much of a difference as people think there is, but last-shot misses stay in one's memory way easier
  11. Awesome photos, it's even more orange than it looks on the stream
  12. By the way, no Guido The Voice Ratti on the stream, where is he, the guy who's been doing St Moritz commentary for nearly 40 years?
  13. Loving the orange Slovakian sled of Cernanska/Horvathova @hckosice (unless the cameras somewhat change the colour and it's actually red, but I'm going with cheering for the orange )
  14. No Lauberhorn this season sadly, but today we'll have the first of two (!!) downhills on the Streif At 11.30 it's time to drop everything and tune in Sadly Johan Clarey had a hard fall at the finish jump yesterday. No injuries it seems, but he's rather busted up.
  15. Also pushing for adjustments though: https://www.theage.com.au/sport/tennis/victoria-azarenka-leads-push-for-hard-quarantine-adjustment-20210122-p56w4b.html Which seems fair, otherwise the event will either have to be moved up by a week or so or be taken even less serious.
  16. Most of the shots sounded normal to me, but yeah there were a few at some point that sounded like a laser or something
  17. It just remains funny how some people are such sore losers
  18. True. Although to be fair, Japan has been the world's number one country for completely weird entertainment since forever, no country in the world would be more fitting to host a pandemic Olympics
  19. Yay COVID-19 That'll teach 'em for kicking out something awesome for that nonsense.
  20. Finally start lists and the full schedule are available! https://shorttrack.sportresult.com/?evt=11213100000082
  21. What's with the Japan Skating Federation?
  22. Good luck finding it. Every single option has very reasonable arguments against them (like the ones you mentioned right now in this case).
  23. The last part of the Arber lap is a downhill (small) followed by a short flat part The start of the lap has a (rather seriously big and scary) climb
  24. Professional idiot Ted Cruz also doesn't really get it yet. I wonder, did he think the Nürnberg Trials were about some local mischief by a few annoying teenagers in a German city, or what?
  25. The above is an excellent reason why I'm glad I'm no politician. No matter which way you look at it or what you decide, it is always wrong, almost more so than in most other topics since there is not a single solution that can be considered even remotely fair.
