  1. Who decides where the target comes from and which way it goes (mostly the latter), I assume it's random or is it left/right/left/right etc? I thought this would be as easy to follow as the skeet, but this is a bit harder to watch
  2. Sam Kendricks is out due to a positive COVID-19 test, there goes half of the awesome atmosphere which has been surrounding the pole vault lately Jakob Ingebrigtsen has decided not to do the 5km and will focus entirely on the 1500m. Taoufik Makhloufi has withdrawn and said an injury is the reason, so we will see him compete just as often as we have in 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2021 combined. Oh well. Dafne Schippers is out of the 100m, there goes a nice 7th place in one of the semis.
  3. Salukvadze is very much in it in her 9th Olympics!
  4. China! What an awesome fight from all four of them and what a huge improvement from Li Bingjie And huge favourite Australia not even second neither!
  5. So far, this 4x200 is more interesting than expected
  6. Great race for gold, but I'm disappointed both by the winner and the lack of a WR
  7. Let's see if Chalmers joins legends Kahanamoku, Weismuller, Popov and vdHoogenband in winning the 'king's race' of swimming twice. Oh and if someone, anyone, could swim Cielo out of the record books, that'd be great.
  8. Dear lord what a time for Zhang Fastest ever time without one of them magic super suits, that record had stood since London 2012
  9. Femke Heemskerk, who is always shining in relays with sub-52's, finally with her first individual final after being in/near the top for 10+ years
  10. Dutch NOS generally likes to go with analysing every Dutch race so long that they're back just in time for the next non-Dutch final (if they even show that) Because the regular viewer here apparently wants the STORY instead of live sports.
  11. And that says something, because there have been plenty of great finals so far
  12. Nobody sees the silver for Kamminga as rough though, this was exactly as expected: Kamminga starting like a madman (the best way for him to race) and Stubblety-Cook finishing way faster than anyone else. Considering how close this race was, any medal would have been a success and unlike.... he definitely sees this as a big success
  13. What an awesome final in the 200m breaststroke Matsson with a slightly surprising medal, although in this field everyone had at least a semi-serious medal chance
  14. So far one gold in the rowing is not bad, although it could just as easily have been four, so that leaves a bit of a taste Especially considering that no matter how many golds they win, that of course won't help those that just miss out.
  15. It was awesome indeed, too bad that it was largely decided by such a mis-hit though Sort of like that German boat yesterday that threw away a medal by a mistake.
  16. Wow, that went completely wrong, totally missed the last moves as if they were unable to make any more move Too bad the replay didn't show the deciding moment which made them basically stop.
  17. Really wonder about the names, that's over half of Nigeria's team.
  18. How many New Yorkers have won gold medals which we can claim?
  19. Winning gold in both sculls and coxless Not literally unique, but that is awesome!
  20. I don't really feel like one day is more full than the other, since they're all full
