Long-time German coach Patrick Moster has a problem after some 'encouragement' he shouted to Nikias Arndt in yesterday's time trial. Arndt started after Azzedine Lagab of Algeria and Amanuel Ghebreigzabhier of Eritrea and was going faster, so Moster told him to "overtake those camel-herders, overtake those camel-herders!"
He did apologize after the race, so there's that. Mostly, +1 for Lagab's reaction
I was wondering about this as well....but surely a coach would at the very least check the B group results?! That takes 10 seconds or so to do, even if I was Talakhadze's coach or something I'd take a quick look at the results of a B group just to not be only 99.999% but 100% sure about if there is some weird danger there
It would be such an insane blunder if Albania's coach wasn't aware of Abdullah...
No, commentators, Abdullah is not a complete shock
Surprising, sure, but mostly weird he was in the B group at all (entry weights I guess?). Given his recent results and age, one might have expected a great performance.
Van Dijke and Polleres will have such a crazy chance for gold with this....winner will fight a completely exhausted opponent, which doesn't mean you'll win, but definitely increases the chances..
Roglic all of a sudden more than half a minute faster than Dumoulin
And considering Roglic just overtook Asgreen, I think that's not because of Dumoulin slowing down, but because of Roglic having a fantastic ride.
