  1. Ouch, Vittozzi didn't hit a single shot in the first shooting
  2. Interesting to see Estonia having two women's teams in the team sprint, but the Kaasiku twins (who usually have scarily similar results as well) are still split up instead of forming one team.
  3. It would slightly increase the theoretical chance for a third Brazilian woman, making large parts of the whole battle and stress of the past months a moot point
  4. Not sure if it's coincidence, but while she was a DNF in the IBU Cup Thursday (and not on the start list yesterday), all of a sudden she is in the freestyle mass start in St Ulrich today, her first XC race since those worlds in February! Yesterday she wasn't in the classic individual start, so it's kind of like she all of a sudden went there.. Not sure it went right though, since she was ahead of a Mexican who has now finished, whereas Ponya has disappeared from the timing after the last intermediate (where she was already pretty far behind, under 300 wasn't gonna happen).
  5. Completely forgot about that, but awesome! And even a team time trial to make it better, the start is basically a few minutes walking away from the main train station so super easy to reach, absolutely going there if restrictions have died down by then
  6. Not really, professional sports events are still allowed (without spectators, but that's no different than it already was).
  7. That's a positive surprise! Last thing I heard out of Brazil (2-3 months ago or so) was basically that numbers are lower but that's because nobody gets tested anymore (and no tests means 'no cases') and most people never really cared about any rules anyway This sounds better now.
  8. Comes to show Van Barneveld is right: "It's nice, but in the end it's still just one leg."
  9. I think the athlete can be trusted more than the federation. As in, an athlete who realizes this will probably work harder to fix it than a federation that might "forget" telling the athlete.
  10. Last season after the world championships, she posted a photo with this text (with a Google Translate English version I put under there)....makes you think she really doesn't know, or they know something we don't.
  11. And Darius Labanauskas just hit the tournament's 2nd nine darter
  12. Lesser fighting his absolute balls off for that 8th place and Olympic qualifying, but he ends up short. Still, 10th is a half nomination, so that's excellent. Few things are a better show of athleticism than Lesser on one of his true fighting days
  13. And Jacquelin misses his last three in a matter of....one and a half second?
  14. Apparently Nove Mesto is cancelled. The coach has doubts about Serbia and Croatia "because snow can disappear quickly there", but it's nearly a month to go, so...bit too early to draw conclusions on that Anyway, if there are no more races for them, the tickets - according to Brazilian federation's own rules - are for Jaque and Bruna
  15. And nice little party with Hanna in 3rd and diving right on top of her sister
  16. I have no doubt that would be SUCH a huge morale boost, and it is also going to be the absolutely last and deciding event for the Brazilian selection, so there is serious stuff at stake!
  17. How's it going in your countries? Here we went into a sort of mild lockdown a week ago and probably tonight they'll announce a tightening of that, with all non-essential shops and services having to close and all schools as well.
  18. Bruna 285.80 Duda 288.05 Mika 290.48 In other words, instead of trying to control the damage, she managed to actually gain a couple of points Which brings the total points in the ranking at the moment to the following, with everyone now being 100% certain of having 6 valid races. With Nove Mesto, Sjenica and Ravna Gora to go (depending on whether or not things are cancelled) in January. A few main points in this list: - Jaque will stay ahead of everyone, we can take that as a certainty - Mika has a bit of room to improve in the classic races and some room in the sprint races, depending on the points and such in January - Duda has a bit of room to improve in the classic races and two good chances to improve in the sprints - Bruna needs only one of the three classic races to be decent in order to drop 300-350 points in one go, and has decent room to improve in the sprints So far, so good.
  19. Finish! Now we wait and see who comes up to destroy the points, but if nothing crazy happens at the very least she should stay ahead of Duda in the Brazilian internal ranking.
  20. Mika passed her on the track, but that's ok. On to the finish now.
  21. Caught up with Mika before the first split (2.3km) and after one lap she is still roughly 40 seconds ahead of her (meaning around 10 seconds in front of Mika on the track). Just keeping this up or even losing a bit would be perfectly fine.
  22. And I just saw they're on Eurovision where you can rewatch everything (because live is no option for me, definitely during the work week)
  23. Start lists for the classic distance races in St Ulrich today: https://winter.racetime.pro/storage/pdfs/startlists/286/503/Startlist individual_{Startlist}.pdf @brunamoura's goal today is damage control considering she's been sick, so let's see how it goes on a pretty hard 5k lap there. Live timing: http://timing.pflanzl.info/CrossCountry.Web/20211218 https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/event-details.html?sectorcode=CC&eventid=50376&seasoncode=2022
  24. Can these races be seen anywhere? I don't see any regular live stream and the finals videos on YouTube are swiftly deleted all the time.
