Yep. One of the few cases where I am at least more open to believing it is in the case someone had sexual relations with a person who can prove they had a certain substance in their body. Not saying that would or should absolve the athlete of any punishment or something like that, I honestly don't know (and in the end the athlete is still the one responsible), but at the very least I am a little more inclined to believe a story like that (since it's a normal thing for people to do and one can quite easily imagine bodily fluids transmitting substances to some degree) than the cancer medicines that fell in the pasta sauce or grandpas making desserts on the same board they cut their medicines on and bringing it 200km to their grandchild and tadaaa, that explains the doping test.

The open water races could still end up not being in the Seine, not because of the water conditions (that seems to have been cleaned up quite nicely), but because of the massively strong flow of water, more than twice as strong as the maximum that's allowed in the rules (1,2 m/s vs 0,5 m/s). Swimmers recently did a test in the Elbe river in Germany at 0,7 m/s and already barely managed to keep going, let alone if it's almost twice as strong. Hopefully that changes very soon, the main challenge in a 10k race shouldn't be to avoid going backwards

That's a weird reason not to allow those results anymore. "Athletes are going to location X to have good results, so we won't count them anymore." What. There are sports where that would have been quite a good idea (cross-country skiing for example, where simply participating in certain races was enough to get great points, under the old system at least), but athletics?

But there is no such thing as a podium in a tournament like this, just like there isn't in a tennis Grand Slam or something.
