    Exactly, and here we generally dislike the (current format of) the mass start Considering like speed skating, canoe slalom is a rather niche and obscure sport in the world, I think a majority of Olympic viewers will actually like it... Curious what (all of) the athletes think of it, that's the most important I think.

    Oh definitely, no athlete is going to say "I prefer no medal than a medal because I am not happy this event was added" Any athlete who didn't want a medal here would simply DNS.

    Lopez is basically the number one reason for me to watch the wrestling every Olympics (and before also Sadullaev, but yeah) You can't count the amount of times I've asked @MHSN "does Lopez still compete?" in the past 8 years on Totallympics

    Much as I personally like it, outside of the countries where canoe slalom is a thing, I think people have similar feelings with this as with doubles luge ('silly') I definitely dislike it being out, by the way. I know I'm in danger by saying people might see it that way, so I'll just stress again: I do like C-2
