Sochi's forgotten!!!!

well, maybe you're not so interested in CC skiing and short track, but those are my 2 highlights of the day (together with the already gone snowboard women's halfpipe) and they are exactly at the same time (for what concerns the most important phases of the competition)...
moreover, always at the same time there are the luge finals, the mixed curling gold medal match and speedskating (all things I'd like to watch, too)...
so, it will be almost impossible to keep myself away from spoilers, especially in ST and CC, which could see some Italian success (and therefore we're going our TV jumping from one to the other all the time)...

The reason for Aerni’s casual attire at the training:
There was an interview with Luca Aerni. He was sick last week and wanted to stay in bed. But then the coach called him and said, he has to get on the skis, it looks like there is not another training for the combination, so he has to do the trainings run on thursday, otherwise he could not start. They agreed, that he would just start in a normal ski jacket and pants, not in the race suit. Then he got in trouble at the start, because the judge there thought, he is just some random tourist, who stole the starting numbers

fu*k...the Italian day is already over...
however, in the first shooting session we've had a lot of "0"...
so, wind shouldn't be that disturbing as feared...

Swiss Tv has just said that there are no delays...they tried to see if wind is too strong, but it was confirmed that's still manageable...
so, we're going to have our pursuit race...and given this weather, it could be a funny one...

good effort by the Japanese girls...
but SUI is clearly superior in almost any aspect of the game...skating well and fast doesn't mean that much in this sport (though sometimes it helps)...

Looks like I picked the best day for full night sleep.

The real one isn't played for now because it's the 'winter stop' (which is filled with an indoor world cup)  

actually Dominik and Kevin Fischnaller are cousins...
 
apart from that, I guess the Gold has gone (who wrote that Loch is out of shape and above all that he can't handle this track? )...
then I think there are still 7 men who could win a medal (even if 3 of them have a good advantage over the others)...
and imho, Kindl is today's big loser (no way he can make up half a second in tomorrow's runs)...

women's game is not hockey...they use the same name, but it's just another sport...
the only games that's worth watching are the USA vs CAN clashes...
 
p.s. of course I'm still watching this game...but trust me, don't take people like me and @hckosice as an example...we're just addicted to anything looks like a game with sticks and pucks (we don't even need it to be played on ice, though we prefer that)...
 
p.p.s. I'm also a bit surprised by the difficult period the Swedes are going through...I expected a definitely better game from them...
but until they take the win home...

I'd say CHN vs SUI in the night session and USA vs CAN at noon (Italian times, of course)...

I have already done that during Rio 2016, I will be an editorial support for the team who is producing daily highlights.
 
Most of them are great in their job or producing videos but do not know if Biathlon is a sport or a food or if Skeleton is also something else apart a group of bones

JYP Jyväskylä Champions of Europe!
  Finals in the Champions Hockey League are always tight, and this year was no exception as JYP Jyväskylä won the game 2-0 to be crowned Champions of Europe!
 
A scoreless opening period saw the home side have the better of the chances and possession.
JYP were strong on the penalty kill as Växjö failed to convert on opportunities in the first and middle periods - something that they would later regret.
 
With the Finns this time playing with a man advantage, Joonas Nattinen found himself wide open in the Lakers' zone to put Jyväskylä one up as his shot slipped through Andren.
 
That lead stayed until 51 minutes to go - or so the Lakers though.
Eric Martinsson's shot form the point found the net, but was washed out for goalie interference, the officials consulting the video and sticking to the on-ice call.
A late minor penalty on the visitors gave the Lakers the perfect chance to tie the game in dramatic fashion.
A half-empty net was missed by Andrew Calof as the Lakers pressed hard for the equaliser.
Then it was over - empty net, and Janne Kolehmainen shot into the open goal in front of jubilant JYP fans to take the trophy to Finland!

Finally, after 3 years of Swedish domination (especially with Frolunda Indians, losing finalists in 2015 and winners in the last 2 seasons), we have a new Nation on top of the European Club Hockey!
 
I think this can only be a good thing for Hockey in general and especially for the future of the Champions Hockey league, which still suffers from significative lack of interest in most part of the Continent throughout the season and does show some sign of life only in the final stages...
 
however, it was nice to see a full house yeasterday night in Växjö, one of those places where normally the arena is almost empty in the early stages of the CHL...
 
and it was even better to watch JYP conquer the ice of the Swedes...

no, not at all...
 
it's 3 per NOC in all individual events except for the women's 5000m/men's 10000m and the Mass Start Races, where only 2 athletes per NOC are allowed to start...
and of course there's only 1 team per NOC in the team pursuit (but this is quite obvious)...

So how many users (of these time zones) are planning to have all nighters for 16 days? Except @heywoodu and @hckosice which go without saying.

so, don't worry about cancellations (in Biathlon and Cross-Country Skiing there's a rule about not competing with -20° Celsius and/or below)...
 
thinking about luge, for us (I mean, the Italian team) it would be nice if we get very low temperatures and almost no humidity...meanwhile if we go on the positive side with high humidity, well...we couldn't even start the races...Germany would easily sweep all the podium places (and it would happen in Skeleton and Bobsleigh, too)...
 
however, Lillehammer is always on my mind...the best Winter Olympics ever (and I'm not speaking of the organization)...
 
 
no comment on the OBS trailers...they're so disappointing that they look like the half-time show of yesterday's superbowl ('na ciofeca, for those who know a bit of Italian slang)...

in Torino 2006 and Vancouver 2010 there were 4 athletes per heat, in Sochi there were 6...
so, I guess there will be 6 also in Pyeongchang...
 
EDIT: I did find the competition format and rules...in the Olympic SBX events there will be 6 guys per heat, it's official...
