  1. naaaa...you're not biased... it's Tishchenko that's overprotected and he's robbing titles here and there in the last 3/4 years... I've never seen such a modest fighter being carried on by the corrupted AIBA official for so long (generally they gift those kind of people 1, max 2 medals in major events, but he's going on since 2013 World Champs...this is not normal even for AIBA)...
  2. Italian press has given it for official... p.s. if we wait for confirmation by the Russians about things like this, we can get very, very old (and still waiting)...

  5. in general, I have to agree...but, to be honest, at least for Rink Hockey the FIRS website is giving the events a good coverage...we also have a live scoring (which is quite new for them)... here you can find all schedules and results: http://www.rollersports.org/discipline/rink-hockey/news/item/1251-rink-hockey-schedule-results-and-live-score-of-every-match by the way, the women's Rink Hockey World Championship has come through the quarterfinals (playing today): Argentina - USA 10-0 Chile - France 3-0 Germany - Italy 3-0 Spain - Portugal 4-1 Men's U-20 Rink Hockey also is at the quarterfinal stage (also today): Spain - England 9-0 Italy - Colombia 5-0 Argentina - Chile 4-1 France - Portugal 4-7 they also say that the women's medal games and all the senior men's games will have a live streaming coverage... here some news and results also about Inline Hockey: http://www.rollersports.org/discipline/inline-hockey/news/item/1257-wrg2017-inline-hockey-goals-emotions-and-surprising-results
  6. the number of boats in each class have been reported by the Italian most reliable and accurate sport website... https://www.oasport.it/2017/08/vela-definite-le-quote-di-partecipazione-per-tokyo2020/ other infos have been reported on ISAF press release after last year's annual meeting (now I can't find the right one, but the final sentence in my previous post was just a copy & paste from there) in shooting, Tokyo 2020 program (with all the new competition and their format) has been approved last June... qualifying criteria have not been released yet... that's the most updated news I could find: http://www.issf-sports.org/news.ashx?newsid=2848 http://www.issf-sports.org/news.ashx?newsid=2861
  7. I wrote..."so far", since I'm not following this evening's session...
  8. I know...it's a cruel, cruel world... however, so far all Kazakhas, all Uzbeks but 1 and all the US fighters (the real news of the year...USA are back on top of AIBA politics after many years of disgrace) today won their bouts...what a surprise! p.s. Tischchenko did it again...this time the victim is David Niyka from NZL...
  9. Lipnitskaya apparently has serious problems with anorexia... so, the situation is a lot more scaring than just having stopped her skating career... I hope she can recover and get well again, sooner or later (possibly as soon as possible)...
  10. please, let's get rid of this farce!!! I saw almost any sort of crazy judgments in boxing, but I never saw anything like today... Mangiacapre (ITA) won his fight against Zhussupov (KAZ) literally destroying him (the fight was stopped by the event doctor because the Kazakh was bleeding so heavily that almost collapsed on the ring...so, technically it was a pure and simple TKO)... but then Kazakhstan made an appeal and the technical commission overturned the final result, stating that the score was to be determined by the reading of the judges' cards at the moment of the stop (like the stop came because of an accidental injury of one of the contenders)...and guess what? for the judges the Zhussupov was 2 points ahead and so he was declared as the winner... so, the new rule is that you can't win against protected boxers even if you knock them out... if somehow there's some justice in the world, I hope that Zhussupov at least won't be able to get his feet on the ring for the next round... p.s. of course that was the highlight of the tournament so far, but surely not the only episode of corrupted judging and shameful scores... nothing has changed in the last months, despite all the "beautiful words" by AIBA officials... and I think that nothing's gonna change in the future... so...once again...let's get rid of this farce!!!
  11. very awful refereeing so far... distribution of shido very "political"... Milani (ITA) robbed big time by the ref in the regulation time (she scored at least twice on counters) and definitively killed in GS with an unexisting shido against Galbadrakh (Mongolian bought by Kazakhstan)... and Manzi's bout against the Hungarian Szabo was just surreal...the Hungarian just ran away for the whole bout and he only got the 3rd shido more than 4 minutes into the GS (and it was given by the table jury, the ref tried not to sanction him also that time)...
  12. undeserved Olympic Champion Adelina Sotnikova (RUS) out for the season, she won't defend her title in Pyeongchang (she wouldn't have any chance in any case )... http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2017/08/28/olympic-skate-champ-sotnikova-out-injured
  13. in the men's -66kg, provided no surprise happens earlier (= Basile losing to Yacoub, PLE in his first match), we have the Olympic Final revenge (Basile vs An Baul, KOR) already in the round of 32... and also our other Olympic medallist, Odette Giuffrida (who won silver in Rio in the women's -52kg), will have to face (always unless something unpredictable happens earlier) Kelmendi, KOS in another Olympic Final revenge match already in the round of 16... let's say that Italy didn't have the luckiest of the draws...
  14. 17. well, those are all but "news"... those articles are dating back, 1 to last May and 1 to Ocotber 2015, if not more...
  18. yeah, as expected (we have to admit) those first games are not so exciting...most often we have a pre-season atmopsphere and, even worse, a pre-season attitude by many teams... by the way, I saw some good audience in some ice rinks here and there (Czech Republic and especially Sweden being the black sheep as always )...at least, if compared to the past years...
  19. Champions Hockey League 2017/2018 Yesterday's Results Gap Rapaces 1-11 ZSC Lions Zurich Frölunda Indians 2-1 KAC Klagenfurt Bílí Tygři Liberec 5-2 Cardiff Devils Mountfield HK 2-4 Nottingham Panthers Stavanger Oilers 3-4 Malmö Redhawks KalPa Kuopio 2-4 Kometa Brno SC Bern 4-0 TPS Turku HC Davos 0-3 Växjö Lakers and Today's Schedule Oceláři Třinec vs. Adler Mannheim Werk Arena, Group D (14:00) HV71 Jönköping vs. Esbjerg Energy Kinnarps Arena, Group D (14:30) Brynäs IF vs. Comarch Cracovia Gavlerinken Arena, Group G (14:30) JYP Jyväskylä vs. Vienna Capitals LähiTapiola Areena, Group C (18:00) Neman Grodno vs. EV Zug Grodno Ice Sports Palace, Group C (18:00) Red Bull Munich vs. IFK Helsinki Olympia-Eisstadion, Group G (18:00) Grizzlys Wolfsburg vs. Tappara Tampere Eis Arena Wolfsburg, Group A (18:00) Red Bull Salzburg vs. HC05 Banská Bystrica EisArena Salzburg, Group A (19:30)
  20. great day of Wrestling...I've never been a fan of the super-heavyweights, but yesterday it was the weight class that offered the most exciting bouts throughout the entire day...and it ended with a final match absolutely amazing... by the way, decisions about the future have been taken... these are the new weight classes for seniors, sub-23 and juniors: To Be Noticed: in Bold the Olympic Classes Men's Freestyle -57kg -61kg -65kg -70kg -74kg -79kg -86kg -92kg -97kg –125kg Women's Wrestling -50kg -53kg -55kg -57kg -59kg -62kg -65kg -68kg -72kg -76kg Greco-Roman Wrestling -55kg -60kg -63kg -67kg -72kg -77kg -82kg -87kg –97kg –130kg Moreover, it's confirmed that from the next season all major tournaments will be contested over 2 days
  21. Champions Hockey League 2017/2018 Yesterday's Results Neman Grodno 5-4 (ot) Vienna Capitals JYP Jyväskylä 3-2 EV Zug Oceláři Třinec 9-1 Esbjerg Energy Grizzlys Wolfsburg 4-3 HC05 Banská Bystrica Brynäs IF 4-3 (so) IFK Helsinki Red Bull Salzburg 1-6 Tappara Tampere Red Bull Munich 6-2 Comarch Cracovia and Today's Schedule Gap Rapaces vs. ZSC Lions Zurich Group H, Alps Arena (15:00) With a point from their OT loss in Gothenburg, ZSC head to the French Alps with the chance to move further ahead of the chasing pack. Frölunda Indians vs. KAC Klagenfurt Group H, Frölundaborg (15:00) The two unbeaten sides meet in Gothenburg as both look to go clear at the top of Group H. Both had tough opening matches, but if Klagenfurt can get anything from the defending champions' it will be a huge result for them. Bílí Tygři Liberec vs. Cardiff Devils Group E, Home Credit Arena (15:30) After their baptism of fire in Davos, Cardiff head to Liberec for the first ever meeting in the CHL between teams from the Extraliga and Elite League. Mountfield HK vs. Nottingham Panthers Group F, Arena Hradec Králové (18:00) Both teams surprised on opening day - Mountfield by comfortably beating TPS, and Nottingham with their battling performance in Bern. Stavanger Oilers vs. Malmö Redhawks Group B, DNB Arena (18:00) The two sides meet as both go in search of their first win in the CHL this season, but it's also got more spice to it as for the first time Norwegian and Swedish teams do battle in the competition! KalPa Kuopio vs. Kometa Brno Group B, Niiralan Monttu (18:00) The top two teams in the group after one game meet in Kuopio. The hosts will have to start better than in their last home game, while the visitors go in search of the perfect end to their road trip. SC Bern vs. TPS Turku Group F, PostFinance Arena (19:45) Having been outplayed against Mountfield HK, TPS head to Bern with an immediate chance to turn things around. The home side however have the chance to move six points clear of tonight's opponents with a win. HC Davos vs. Växjö Lakers Group E, Vaillant Arena (19:45) After their big win on opening night, HC Davos will expect a thoroughly different challenge in the shape of last year's CHL Semi-Finalists. The Lakers had a poor spell in Liberec where they conceded three goals in as many minutes, but still won the game in OT. Whoever tonight will be in the driving seat for qualification.
  22. here: http://jrworlds2017.veloresults.com/ I also found a link to a supposed live broadcast, but today's races are already over (should be good for tomorrow)... https://velodromemontichiari.com/en/velotv-en/ p.s. to be honest...I've just given a look at it...and there are no updates since yesterday morning...
  23. too much Japan in Women's Wrestling...but still a nice competition, with medals going more or less all around the world... in the meantime, a few moments ago I watched an unbelievable match in the men's -125kg...Shabanbay (KAZ) lost to Gagloev (SVK) 11-10...I think I never saw such a high score in this weight class, even in freestyle (where scoring is higher on average)... and Italy also got their first win in a single match at these World Champs... thanks to our Georgian born guy Givi Davidovi in the -57kg class (he beat a Moroccan wrestler by superiority)... I hope he can get at least another win...so, just for my personal satisfaction (you know...sometimes it's a bit frustrating watching and being a fan of a sport that almost never gives you any "patriotic" joy )... waiting for Frank Chamizo tomorrow to put Italy on the map...
  24. well, they are regular host for Baseball events (World Baseball Classic, World Cup, the old Intercontinental Cup, Youth World Champs) and for the Volleyball Grand Prix (not the finals, though)... and recently they hosted Junior and Youth World Champs in Women's Boxing... but I guess you're right when you write about politics keeping bigger events far away from the Island...
  25. Champions Hockey League 2017/2018 Yesterday's Results http://www.championshockeyleague.com/en/schedule#select_schedule=0 and Today's Schedule Grizzlys Wolfsburg vs. HC05 Banská Bystrica Eis Arena Wolfsburg, Group A (18:00) Slovakia's Champions HC05 Banská Bystrica make their Champions Hockey League debut in Wolfsburg, who finished as runners up in last year's DEL play-offs. On paper, Group A is one of the more open to call, making this already a crunch game for the race to finish in the Top Two. Oceláři Třinec vs. Esbjerg Energy Werk Arena, Group D (18:00) Trinec have never made it to the Round of 16 in the CHL, and their quest to do so this season starts with a tricky game against Danish Champions Esbjerg. While many might predict the Energy to finish last in the group, last year's OT win over IFK Helsinki should be a warning to anyone that would take them lightly. Neman Grodno vs. Vienna Capitals Grodno Ice Sports Palace, Group C (18:00) Although Grodno have taken part in the CHL before, it's somewhat 'into the unknown' for Vienna taking on the Belarussian champions. JYP Jyväskylä vs. EV Zug LähiTapiola Areena, Group C (18:00) Both JYP and Zug have made the CHL play-offs in each of their four seasons taking part, making these two the favourites to advance. The game also see Jarko Immonen face his old team having moved back to JYP over the summer. Red Bull Munich vs. Comarch Cracovia Olympia-Eisstadion, Group G (19:00) Cracovia made a big impression in last year's CHL with their strong fan base, and they're expected to have strong support today as the team head to Munich. The German Champions have set winning the CHL as a target for this season, so will not be in the mood to drop any points. Red Bull Salzburg vs. Tappara Tampere Eisarena Salzburg, Group A (19:00) Salzburg entertain Liiga Champions Tappara in a game that both will target to win if they want to advance from Group A. Neither side has set European hockey alight in recent seasons, and both are aiming to do better this time aorund. Brynäs IF vs. IFK Helsinki Gavlerinken Arena, Group G (19:00) CHL hockey arrives in Gavle, and Brynäs couldn't have asked for a much better fixture as they welcome IFK Helsinki to town. The Finns and their hosts will be favourites to advance from the group, but for the home side it will be a good early test of where they sit alongside some of Europe's best.
