  4. to me, it's just a question related to the limited number of spots available... races with 10 or 12 boats (but it's the same for most sports) are already not really representative enough...and if we also have to look at 3 or 4 of those (boats/athletes/teams etc.) coming from the same Country...well, imho this event loses all of its attractiveness... I don't see any good reason to give powerhuses aven more advantage than what they already have...I've never liked a one-sided podium in any discipline...and I'm not gonna start now... I'd be OK with more than one (boat/athlete/team) per NOC only if there are no limited spots in the whole Olympics... but, since it's impossible to host a million people for the Games, with the current participation rules it's more than enough to have 1 spot per NOC in all these sports, which already are by their own nature "multi-athlete" in most of their events...

  8. c'mon, man!!! why??? they get us crazy with "universality" and "gender equality" and then they take decisions like this that would cut the number of medallists by more than 50%??? do they want GER and HUN to win almost every medal? why not giving them directly without even wasting money and time to organize the Olympic regatta?
  9. basically I agree with @heywoodu on the single events (maybe I'd keep out also the Individual Telemark, too)... c'mon, man!!! dear IOC...why do you want to make the Winter Olympics a farce???

  15. as I wrote before, it's not my fault...all the Cadets' results are just not available anywhere... meanwhile, in a few minutes I'm going to post all the Junior Teams' results...so, at least we will have a full picture of this age class...
  16. I think we should ask ourselves why we're still here, following all sort of sports? I can only speak for myself...and, as I already wrote in the past, I still like the show, the competition, the action I can find when I watch sport events...just like going to the cinema...nothing more, nothing less... and yes, I can also feel pleasure and get emotional behind some athletes and/or teams winning and/or losing... it's just something "inside me", that I can't even imagine to control and/or stop...I can easily say that I'm addicted to the emotions and the adrenaline that sport gives me most of the times...
  17. Romania has made a subscription to the Bronze Medals...they just ended up in 3rd place in all 3 of today's events...

  21. in the last weekend, the Karate-1 Serie A tournament in Salzburg (AUT) was on stage Japan as usual got the most of the honors out of it, with 3 Gold medals... Croatia and Egypt followed the Asians in the final medal table with 2 Gold medals each... meanwhile France, Germany, Kosovo, Ukraine and Uzbekistan got 1 Gold medal each... Japan (men) and Hong Kong (women) also won 2 additional Gold medals in the Team Kata events, which to me are senseless, because of the very modest participation (in terms of both the number and the quality of the teams involved)... considering the Olympic categories only, instead, Japan got both Individual Kata top placings... the Kumite Gold medals went to CRO (winning both -50 & -55kg classes), FRA (-61kg) and EGY (winning both -68 and +68kg classes) among the girls and UZB+JPN (-60 & -67kg), GER (-75kg) and UKR+KOS (-84 & +84kg) among the boys... full results of this tournament can be found here: https://www.sportdata.org/wkf/set-online/popup_main.php?popup_action=results&vernr=164&active_menu=calendar
  22. and finally, the home heroes got their well deserved triumph in Ft.Lauderdale... however, both final games were very disappointing, one-sided to say the least... men's 5* tournament, final results: 3rd place match: Samoilovs & Smedins (LAT) b. Pedro Solberg & George (BRA) 2-0 (21-17, 21-17) 1st place match: Dalhausser & Lucena (USA) b. Nicolai & Lupo (ITA) 2-0 (21-12, 21-17)
