  3. to me, every TT and Diving event is just a free gold for it's time to cut down the number of those events...and not by only a few
  4. until Sport Climbing became part of the Olympic schedule, the "combined event" didn't exist and it was quite an oddity to see the same people being at the top of both boulder and lead, even if boulder was basically invented as a form of (indoor) training for the lead specialists in the last 10 years, with this "combined event" included in the Olympic program, many things have changed and of course the strongest specialists in both disciplines started to develop also the skills required by "the other one" to be competitive in the new event actually, also the design of the boulder and lead walls has changed to allow all the top athletes to become better all-arounders than true specialists of a single event but, despite that, there are still a very good number of those and if you're not Janja Garnbret, it's very difficult to be a medal candidate in both disciplines most likely, with boulder and lead being now separated also at the Olympics, I hope everything will be back to basics, with boulder and lead walls being way more complicated for the non-specialists, requiring different skills (and physical characteristics) that can't easily match one with the others
  5. despite the finals are still running, it's certain that win gold & silver and win bronze in the mixed air pistol competition
  6. it's the configuration of the building: there are a lot of outdoor spaces (more than usual), with the wind gusts going left and right, which is very tricky for the shooters (especially those used to different conditions where the scores are normally higher)

  9. home field advantage? I'm joking, but really, this is a very difficult range...being used to it, it's surely an advantage
  10. so, Table Tennis loses the single gender team events, replaced by the mixed team event and there's also the comeback of the single gender doubles beside the confirmed mixed doubles all of that, just to gift a few more free gold medals meanwhile Tennis will have a mixed event rather than the classic mixed doubles...we'll see what they will figure out for that
  11. this and the Sport Climbing end of the senseless combined era are the only good news personally, I'm OK with the 50m swimming events in, but after that, I'd have switched the mixed relay to open water swimming at least anything else, just pure shit (compound archery mixed team? and no individual events? c'mon! more 3x3 farce basketball teams and only 6 cricket/baseball/softball teams? bleah! not to mention the football pure woke move...disgusting!)

  17. oh, thanks! I missed the detail and I also hope he's gonna swim all of his program, even if the news about the 50m events being added to the Olympic schedule might mean the end of any attempt to swim a 200m competition for Thomas...I think (fear) now he would focus only on the 50/100m back, fly and 100m free (only because of the relays)
