no, they don't say that at all... it's just a banned substance (and as a recreational drug -horrible definition- it's considered a minor infraction, with shorter period of ban -rules say from 3 to 6 months max...he got away with 3, the usual standard for that kind of fault), which doeasn't necessarily mean that it's also a PED (and cannabis abuse's consequences are well known...it makes you way less reactive, so in a sprint race it's not an advantage at all)... and as I said, I'm against any drug and I clearly wrote that I don't want him to be part of our team, so I'm definitely not looking for excuses for Italian people doing extremely stupid things...

wait... cannabis (and especially for sprinters, who need a flashy start) to me is not doping...and I wouldn't call "cheaters" those who get caught for that... actually, taking cannabis befopre a sprint event makes you more damage than benefit... the problem to me is that they are just drug addicted...and I hate drug dealers and drug addicted people...to me, they should all be sentenced to death, as they are a disaster for the entire society, even more than themselves and their family... to me, it's a really different question, that goes well beyond sport and PEDs, it's a real cancer of modern society...

by the way, I just discovered that Italy have 50m Free specialist Vergani on their roster (he's currently banned for cannabis until July 20th)... what a shame! he should have never been selected after he got caught for that...

thankfully, a few more interesting things happened on Friday and earlier today in Istanbul... in particular, everything is set for tomorrow's showdown in the men's -74kg, when a new chapter of the rivalry between Frank Chamizo and Jordan Burroughs will be on stage... however, I don't expect anything special, as Chamizo is just coming back from a muscular injury that prevented his participation to the European games just a couple of weeks ago...so, he can't be in the best shape... still, the names involved are always worth watching... and for the joy of our dear friend @hckosice we have a couple of Slovakians on fire as Gulaev made the final in the men's -79kg and Makoev will be in the bronze medal match in the -86kg...

I really like Corona Extra, but unfortunately I never tried the other one (I don't think it's available here in Italy), so, it's a forced choice... by the way, among the commercial beers, my favourites are generally Fisher (FRA), Stella Artois (Belgium), Heineken (NED) and Beck's (GER)... but those I like the most are local beers from the small Italian factories and the "special" ones (like the "Biere du Demon", the super-powerful French beer)...
