  1. postponed... it's been announced that, if the Olympics are still held this year, the tournament will restart from the exct point when it's been stopped and the already contested fights count...
  2. actually, we are reasonbly sure of the opposite...being infected and surviving doesn't make you immune at all... a few cases of a second infection have already been reported... that's another reason why the group immunity theory can't be applied to this virus (at least for now...if and when we have a vaccine against it, then things might change and the immunity group theory would make more sense)...
  3. group immunity is based on the principle of putting the longer distance / reducing the chance to the minimum that sick people meet someone who's not already immune and therefore gets infected... for it to be effective, you normally need to have at least 90% to 95% of people already immune to the sickness you want to keep under control... basically, it's what you do with disease like measles and chicken pox, which most people are already vaccinated against...as long those people can't get it, you only need to protect a low number of weak people from the virus and avoid it to infect them... but obviously it can't be done with a virus that doesn't have not only a true vaccine, but even a sure safe effective medicine to treat the worst cases... those who are proposing such kind of measure are absolutely crazy and should go back to school and study what group immunity truly is about and how it really works... letting such kind of virus spread would mean an unacceptable enormous amount of people dying, even among youngsters and among those who are supposed to be able to survive the infection...
  4. group immunity can't exist without most people having already taken a vaccine against that disease... it's the basic principle behind this theory, which is the leading theory and option for well know viruses we have a vaccine available for... but for unknown / still without an effective medicine to fight against kind of sickness, it's just like playing the russian roulette...
  5. should they do a proper test program, they'd be on the podium in a while...
  6. I do really hope it's just an occasional flu, but the authorities in your Country are playing with your life (even if you're young and strong it's not sure you're not going to face major issues if they don't start assisting you early enough)... they should really make you a test... from the hottest area of the red zone of Italy...
  7. of course I'm more than biased...but "controversy" about the winner of that match can only be in their sick minds (and in a close final score like they had earlier today)... you can watch the fight and judge by yourself, but the Mongolian judge that gave Bosnjak the 30-26 score to me is to be kicked out from the world of boxing immediately... the boos were only because a clearly biased and hostile crowd (not to mention the man in charge of running the live blog)...they would have done the same even if Aziz did show a combination of the best technique from Muhammad Alì and the most brutal power from Mike Tyson... OK...Mouhiidine did nothing special, didn't land a single powerful punch (just limited himself to softly touch the Bosnian), but thinking to score even a single round (especially the 1st one) in favour of Bosnjak is just...impossible... p.s. the Olympic Channels replays can be send fast forward...you have to pause the video and then move along the timeline until you find the point you want to watch...
  8. meanwhile I have already paid my fee in advance and I can't get this discount...
  9. yes, but it's up to their respective NF to choose if the same fighter can have a second chance or if he's going to be replaced by another teammate... and if you watch through an android tv/apple tv app, they're not even available...you can only watch the live streaming...
  10. Russo didn't show up against Clarke because of stomach problems... no comment on the other men of our team fighting today...just need to know that they all lost badly... luckily, at least we had a girl winning her bout...
  11. by the way, it's not a live scoring at all, but the live blog on the qualifications website is quickly updated after each bout... https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/stories/news/detail/boxing-olympic-qualification-london-day-1-live-blog/
  12. still going on, but losing pieces... https://totallympics.com/index.php?/topic/2246-sport-events-cancelled-due-to-coronavirus-outbreak/&do=findComment&comment=281898
  13. KHL playoffs are still going on, but they're losing pieces... Jokerit Helsinki, following the Finnish Government's guidelines, decided to retire from the playoffs, where they were supposed to start their quarterfinals series against SKA Saint Petersburg next Tuesday... https://thehockeynews.com/news/article/khls-jokerit-voluntarily-withdraws-from-gagarin-cup-playoffs-ahead-of-second-round-series
  14. that's the problem...we have contracts to buy 60 millions masks, but only half of them will be honored because of the spreading of the virus in all the other Nations that were supposed to help but now have to think about themselves... it's gonna be a long Spring...
  15. and we'll see how the British curve develops in the next days, as they ignored the problem for weeks now...
  16. what's really scary in our situation is that many doctors and and health operators have been infected while assisting those who come to the hospitals... and basically we only have 35 million masks/month available, while most specialists say we'd need at least 90 millions (and we lack quite a good number of assisted breathing machineries for those subject to breathing troubles, too)...
  17. to be precise, right now we have 8372 people hospitalized with symptoms from mid-strenght to severe and 7860 people assisted at home (with very mild symptoms or no symptoms at all)...
  18. however, we always must considered that 95% of deaths are 80+ years old people with also a lot more health issues than the sole coronavirus... notable stat: 75% of deaths are men, only 25% are women...
  19. obviously...with all the thousends of people who moved from Lombardy to the South last week and last night, you can expect the situation to explode and get totally out of control in the Southern Regions in the next couple of weeks... they absolutely have to stop all kind of internal mobility if they want to avoid an endless spread of this fuckin' virus in our entire Nation...
  20. today's update for what concerns Italy... 2795 positive tests more than yesterday (total number of currently sick people = 17750)... 175 new deaths (1441 in total), 527 healed people more than yesterday (total = 1966)... of them, 11685 (1865 new cases) positive tests are in Lombardy (966 total deaths, 76 more than yesterday)... the end is coming...
  21. good 8 players of FC Sampdoria Genua (Italian Football serie A) tested positive... after they hit that number, the team has decided to stop sharing public news about the players...
  22. Russo has been a great boxer...he's been the best in his category for years...he's won a lot of global medals...but right now he's a former fighter, he should have stopped his career after the Rio 2016 scandal (I know, it's difficult to stop just the day after you've been robbed of a probable -and truly deserved- Olympic medal, maybe even a Gold one, even if I don't think he was better than Levit in that occasion)...
  23. oh, man! what a race and what a season's end for wintersports (and biathlon in particular)... I still can't slow down my heartbeat... and even if I'm enjoying Wierer's success, I kinda feel sad for Tiril, too... I think she's been the best through the entire season, but she totally messed up the world champs and because of that also compromised the final world cup result for herself... by the way, great mental effort by Wierer...today it was really difficult to manage this situation, but I think she did a masterpiece under the circumstances... last thought, a big thanks to Martin Fourcade and Kaisa Makarainen for everything they gave to the sport through all these years...I'll miss them (Kaisa more than Martin, obviously)...
  24. no chance at all...he's lucky if he doesn't get KOed by Clark...
  25. well, one fighter was already winning a round and also got a KD...in the following round it happened exactly the opposite... sometimes it happens... I can't remember when, but I'm pretty sure it's not the first time...
