  1. if McIntosh is unable to start in Tokyo (for whatever the reason might be), they can pick whoever they want to replace her, provided the new shooter has the MQS in all the disciplines they want him/her to start... quotas are for NOCs, who can do what they want, even asking to switch the disciplines between one where they actually won the spot and one where they missed out (if I remember correctly, there's only the limit of 1 switch per gender)...

  3. the (long) waiting is finally over! it's baaack!!! it's Hockey season!!!
  4. Men's Ice Hockey IIHF European Champions League 2019 - 2020 Multi-Stage Event - 29 August 2019 - 4 February 2020 Official Website
  5. today's early action recap... women's -70kg semifinals Margaux Pinot vs Barbara Timo Marie Eve Gahie vs Sally Conway repechage round Sanne Van Dijke vs Michaela Polleres (winner going for Bronze vs loser of Gahie vs Conway fight) Maria Perez vs Anna Bernholm (winner going for Bronze vs loser of Pinot vs Timo fight) men's -90kg semifinals Noel Van T End vs Nemanja Majdov Markus Nyman vs Soichiro Mukai repechage round Axel Clerget vs Mammadali Mehdiyev (winner going for Bronze vs loser of Nyman vs Mukai fight) Krisztian Toth vs Ivan Felipe Silva Morales (winner going for Bronze vs loser of Van T End vs Majdov fight)
  6. I guess that they're a little bit biased (but just a little)... imho, after watching the fights, he didn't lost on purpose even the match vs Casse (despite knowing that Muki was already qualified to the gold medal match)... but the only one who really knows what he actually did is Saeid himself...we will never know the "real truth", but just interpretations of it...
  7. Chinese Taipei, if you don't want to fuel a diplomatic war...
  8. and it's India getting the first Gold of this world cup stage, thanks to Elavenil Valarivan, who dominated from start to finish the 10m Air Rifle competition...
  9. 2019 World Cup, Stage #8 (Rio De Janeiro, BRA) Women's 10m Air Rifle Gold: Elavenil Valarivan Silver: Seonaid McIntosh Bronze: Lin Ying-Shin Olympic Quota: Chinese Taipei, Iran
  10. which means that McIntosh, Valarivan and Lin are today's medallists... we'll see in a few minutes who's going to get which kind of medal...
  11. and the "wooden medal" (the unlucky and painful 4th place) goes to... Armina Sadeghian...
  12. and now it's Coman to close her competition...5th place for her... GBR / IND / TPE and IRI fighting for the medals...
  13. Moudgil ends her day in 6th place...
  14. and now it's the 3rd ranked after quali (KOR) to go out...
  15. p.s. live scoring not working.. luckily the streaming is still on...
  16. and qualification's winner Mary Tucker is the first to go out of the final...
  17. surely it could be a normal reaction for someone who already lost his title in the previous match and then doesn't think it's worth the effort to save even the bronze medal... I think there are many athletes who would have the same feeling (even if it doesn't look professional at 100%, I guess it's human)...
  18. Today's final action recap... women's -63kg Gold: Clarisse Agbegnenou Silver: Miku Tashiro Bronze: Martyna Trajdos & Juul Franssen men's -81kg Gold: Sagi Muki Silver: Matthias Casse Bronze: Luka Maisuradze & Antoine Valois-Fortier
  19. finally, Agbegnenou vs Tashiro... match of the last 2 years...absolutely... no comment on today's performance by the Italian players, instead... when someone will realize that we need a different technical director and some new coaches, it will be always too late...
  20. I'm sure Mollaei didn't lost on purpuse against Maisuradze...this guy is just an amazing athlete...if you give him the body contact, he's going to put your back on the mat 100% of times...he's just too strong for anybody else...even Muki wouldn't keep it up with him if they engage a pure strenght battle... he only need to gain a bit of experience, and then he's going to dominate this class (if he can stay inside the weight limit, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the -90kg class after next year's Olympics, which imho wouldn't be a great idea, as he would lose his advantage in pure strenght he has right now against all of his competitors)...
  21. and they did it again earlier today...but that's an infringment of the official IJF protocol... probably in Japan they can do whatever they want...the rules have been written for the others, not for them...
  22. you should look at the tournament bracket... they always follow the order from top to bottom of that to fill the contest list... no.1 seed always have the advantage of going first (so to have a few minutes more of recovery time)... unfortunately, this time the advantage turns out to be a disadvantage...
  23. today's early action recap... women's -63kg semifinals Clarisse Agbegnenou vs Juul Franssen Tina Trstenjak vs Miku Tashiro repechage round Liao Yu-Jung vs Martyna Trajdos (winner going for Bronze vs loser of Trstenjak vs Tashiru fight) Gankhaich Bold vs Sanne Vermeer (winner going for Bronze vs loser of Agbegnenou vs Franssen fight) men's -81kg semifinals Saeid Mollaei vs Matthias Casse Sagi Muki vs Mohamed Abdelaal repechage round Antoine Valois-Fortier vs Dominic Ressel (winner going for Bronze vs loser of Muki vs Abdelaal fight) Sharofiddin Boltaboev vs Luka Maisuradze (winner going for Bronze vs loser of Mollaei vs Casse fight)
  24. then, just buy a Czech/Slovak TV subscription (like I did )...you'll be able to watch as much Hockey as you want... actually, you will have so much of that to make it come out from your ears and eyes and nose and...better stop, now...
