  1. wow! just wow! what a great start of the season for the Italian team De Gennaro, in particular, was so impressive...in the final he had a very slow start and despite that, he won with such big margin p.s. God bless the Slovak (and Czech) TV!
  2. Today's Results women's -46kg Gold: Lena Stojkovic Silver: Kamonchanok Seeken Bronze: Ruka Okamoto & Wang Xiaolu men's -54kg Gold: Park Tae-Joon Silver: Hugo Arillo Vazquez Bronze: Omonjon Otajonov & Gorkem Polat
  3. and just another bitter loss at the quarterfinal stage for an Italian fighter (this time it was Teodoro Del Vecchio in the men's -54kg class) it's the 4th time in this championship (and we only got a single medal, even if it's a Gold in an Olympic class, which is the most important thing).

  9. what a great match between and in the -87kg semifinal the Iranian guy deserved more luck...
  10. highest number of non-scoring hits registered by PSS. if that's still tied, it's judges' decision (superiority...don't ask for the Korean name).
  11. I think he's (also) playing mind games with Kerley. looking at the American's reaction, Jacobs might have seen it's worth the effort
  12. No Jacobs also in Florence
  13. as expected, he was a DNS. what a bad luck!
  14. today's Semifinals (Final Block starts @ 4 p.m. CET) women's -49kg Semifinals Adriana Cerezo Iglesias vs Merve Dincel Bruna Duvancic vs Panipak Wongpattanakit men's -80kg Semifinals Simone Alessio vs Miguel Trejos Salas Carl Alan Nickolas vs Seif Eissa men's -87kg Semifinals Ivan Sapina vs () Artsiom Plonis Arian Salimi vs Kang Sang Hyun
  15. TRT Spor Yildiz (TRT Spor Star)
  16. yeah, but I'm pretty sure he can't. I mean, he was really KO. I fear he has a concussion. I wouldn't let him continue in any case, if I were the Italian staff. Sure they will say something about it before the next round is starting.
  17. no broadcast Today on the Turkish TV but Tomorrow there are 2 events: first, @ 10 a.m. then @ 4 p.m. (always local time; it's not listed if it's live or delayed -I guess the morning event is Today's action on tape delay). and nothing at all on M4 Sport in Hungary.
  18. a few minutes ago, Roberto Botta advanced to the round of 16 in the men's -87kg class, but he did it only because of the Russian Kamalov being DSQ by landing a very hard punch to the face of the Italian, who went down and took quite a while to re-establish himself after the hit. I don't know if he'll be able to fight in the next round (he should face Mahdi Khodabakhsi)
  19. poor Vito...not only he had to manage the old injury...yesterday he also broke his right hand in the fight vs the man from that's the true reason why he gave up during that match. hope he's not going to miss too many of the next competitions (unfortunately, the next Grand Prix event in Rome is not an option anymore ).
  20. by the way, not the most exciting Conference Finals in the history of the league... especially out West, after the first 3 close games, we also lost the competitivness of the games themselves. in the East, at least we had closer games (and they were played better by the teams involved), despite the series finishing in 4 matches only. in the end, Conference Finals not on the same page of the previous rounds. let's see how things go in the final showdown. being absolutely neutral, I only hope to watch some exciting show on the ice
  21. it's definitely not the hockey of our fathers anymore...
  22. final update, it looks like Vito Dell'Aquila, who gave up a minute into the second round vs Altaryreh earlier Today, was still injured (he almost broke a couple of ribs a month ago) and that's the true reason behind his very poor performance with no stamina at all (at this point I'm asking myself how he could get past the first 2 fights? maybe the painkiller lost effectivness through the day? ). meanwhile, criminal draw in the men's -80kg Tomorrow: no.1 seed Simone Alessio might have to face the reigning world champion Park Hyun-Woo already in the quarterfinals reigning world silver medallist ( Cintado Arteche) and Tokyo 2020 silver medallist El Sharabaty are also in the top half of the draw. not exactly a well balanced draw, to say the least.
  23. yes, you're right you can only qualify more than 2 athletes by Ranking. if you have reached that target, you can't enter the Continental OQT (and if you have 1 qualified athlete through the OQR, you can only enter 1 weight class in the Continental OQT).
  24. Today's Results women's -67kg Gold: Magda Wiet Henin Silver: Julyana Al-Sadeq Bronze: Mari Romundset Nilsen & Ruth Gbagbi women's -73kg Gold: Althea Laurin Silver: Rebecca McGowan Bronze: Matea Jelic & () Polina Khan men's -58kg Gold: Bae Jun-Seo Silver: () Georgii Gurtsiev Bronze: Adrian Vicente Yunta & Mahmoud Altaryreh
