  1. only because we only started 1 girl (and not even one of the best 4 among them). still we might win gold with less than the minimum effort
  2. canoe is a sport where strenght plays a decisive role. how can you match a man and a woman's strenght to have a perfectly balanced stroke? it's impossible. therefore this kind of event shouldn't exist, it's not like those competitions where the result of a mixed event is basically the addition of separated performances by men and women (even when they happen in the same race, like in biathlon or swimming).
  3. Italian coaches are a bunch of idiots! they have the best non-Chinese talent since Sautin in the team and they insist on those 2 losers. they're just killing the career of Matteo Santoro, not letting him dive in the individual events and not letting him increase his tech difficulties. what the hell do they think? do they really believe he would eventually learn the most difficult dives when he's already "old" and maybe carrying some injuries? shame on them! shame on them! shame on them!
  4. in boxing, in the men's -51kg class only 2 quota places are awarded, not 4
  5. well, those with heart problems might have to do it
  6. as I explained in the past, it's all about politics. there are 2 pathways to follow: first, these Games have always been felt like the Russian garden, their way to show their sport muscles to the Continent they would like to be part of, but never wanted them. second, all the officials of the various European sports Federations have always seen these Games like a huge threat to their power and to their "regular" Continental Champs. therefore they choose to boycott in every possible way the EGs development, especially in the Western Countries (that have been heavily joked by the organizers in the past, including only sports where the Eastern block could easily dominate the Western rivals with fair but also with unfair judges left and right). they even came up with the idea of an opposing event like the unified Europeans, which almost immediately show all of their limits however. imho, there's no place in Europe for a big event like this. too many expenses (especially in these very difficult years, thanks to the crazy, idiotic politics of the EU) and too little income because of the lack of interest for all the socalled "minor disciplines" in most of the "supposed" rich Western Countries, where all the attention and all the money go to the mainstream sports like Football, Tennis, Motorsports, maybe Basketball (but only in a few Nations). there's no way to earn a single penny focusing on things like Fencing, Canoeing and so on.
  7. yeah, he has quite a long career behind himself representing Kosovo. now he is representing a new Country and just found the day of his life (thanks also to an Italian loser like Martina, who lost against him a semifinal match he should have never lost on paper). good for Alvin
  8. naaa...it all depends only on how much the various federations payed to have there fighters proteced by the infamous bunch of corrupted judges (or someone does really think that stripping IBA of her role as the world federation would change anything in Olympic Boxing? poor naives). my picks? will be robbed big time left and right because we weren't explicitly vs the IBA mafia (despite what they did to our boxers at the recent worlds). I expect almost all fighters from (and for other reasons) to progress way more than they deserve. actually, I expect and to qualify in all the weights they enter a just decent boxer. would be really surprised if that doesn't happen.
  9. Swimming (Sette Colli and US Trials), some Football (Euro U-21), something from the EG (athletics, shooting, karate, boxing, canoeing, MTB, maybe archery...and who knows what else?), the women's EuroBasketball (finals) and some Baseball (MLB and College World Series). still too much...
  10. that wasn't the case of a bad referee: that was corruption at 1000%. the only doubt is who ordered that kind of refereeing? Ceferin? Rutte? Scholz? Macron and the Paris 2024 organizers? all of them together?
  11. women's boxing draw... out of 6 weight categories, we have 3 times vs in round of 16 considering that facing at European level it's the same of facing at IBA level, what could go wrong?
  12. yes, now I've noticed that. the worst games ever. I can already say that after 1 day.
  13. Karate's streaming is at least 6 or 7 mins late they just started the women's -50kg final, but the bout is already over (according to the live scoring service)
  14. for both men and women's Football the rules are the same as they were in Tokyo. no GBR in the men's division because there's no agreement between ENG, SCO, WAL and NIR. meanwhile ENG have been designated as the GBR representative in the qualification tournament (which is now the new women's Nations League 2023/2024). in case they qualify, a full GBR squad would be able to take part into the Olympic Games, even if I read somewhere that there won't be any SCO/WAL/NIR player added to the ENG team despite the rules allow that. p.s. this has been made official since the end of the last Olympic cycle.
  15. yes, they already competed for years in the Ski Classic circuit, which is made of races well beyond 50kms up to 90kms (Vasaloppet). actually, mass start races that long could be more enjoyable on the women's side than in men's, where normally it all ends up in a sprint finish.
  16. but there are no replays of the athletics events in the official portal (unless they have posted them elsewhere). I can only see beach handball (with awful spoilers in the files' description ).
  17. from the Official Regulations of the UEFA U-21 Championship 2021/2023 19.06. The three best ranked teams of the UEFA Under-21 2023 final tournament qualify for the men’s football tournament of the Olympic Games 2024 and will join France, automatically qualified as host. 19.07. Depending on the number of eligible teams involved in the quarter- and semifinals, an Olympic play-off match may be necessary to identify the third-best team of the final tournament. This match could be held between the two semi-finalists not progressing to the final or between the two best quarter-finalists not progressing to the semi-finals. The UEFA administration will confirm the applicable scenario during the final tournament as well as the match date and venue*. 19.08. If the two best quarter-finalists are to be determined, the following criteria would apply, in the order given: a. higher position in their group on completion of the final tournament group stage; b. higher number of points in the final tournament group stage; c. superior goal difference in the final tournament group stage; d. higher number of goals scored in the final tournament group stage; e. superior goal difference in the quarter-finals after normal time; f. higher number of goals scored in the quarter-finals after normal time; g. lower disciplinary points total based only on yellow and red cards received by players and team officials in the final tournament group stage and quarter-finals (red card = 3 points, yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for two yellow cards in one match = 3 points); h. higher position in the UEFA Under-21 National team coefficient rankings used for the final draw (see Annex A.1.2.b). 19.09. The Olympic play-off match is a single-leg knock-out match. If the match is undecided after normal time, two 15-minute periods of extra time are played and, if needed, the winner is determined by kicks from the penalty mark. *the play-off match will be played in Bucharest on July 7th (h.21.00 CET) or July 8th (h.15.00 CET) depending on teams' need and on TV networks requests. 18. if only all this sh*t would mean something for the good of the sport... but when you have the same judges in the IBA and IOC events, do you really think it would eventually change anything in terms of fair competitions?
  19. by the way, Italian TV only bought the TV rights for Athletics, Diving and Artistic Swimming, so the other sports should work on the European Games portal for us, meanwhile no chance to watch the first 3, even when our TV is not broadcasting (like D2 and D3 in Athletics).
  20. 25 fps pictures...
  21. here with more details (including live timing) https://settecolli-2023.microplustiming.com/NU_2023_06_23-25_Roma_web.php
  22. all medal ceremonies of the individual events will be held at the end of the program of the last day of competition (from 7 to 10 p.m. local time) because, as you wrote, the final individual rankings include all the 3 divisions of the team championship
  23. imho and one between will be the in the top 6 from the upper side of the bracket (with vs being the 1st semifinal of the European Championship). meanwhile in the lower side of the bracket and are already safe into the semifinals of Eurobasket 2023 (and in the OQTs, of course), with being heavily favourite over and for the last spot among the lucky 6. I think (and I hope) that and , despite finishing only 3rd in their respective pools in the group stage, are more than capable to overtake a 2nd ranked team like and / or .
  24. finally, some Italian delight!
