  1. I think he's the only one who could do it successfully
  2. I know, but he's limiting his chances in that class most likely, the 18 yr old guy has a lot more potential to gain BW and improve his score, so it's kind of an obligated move to get down to 89kg for Abokahla, but still...
  3. in the women's -71kg, Gold went to Liao Guifang with a Total of 273kg (first World Record of these Championships) ahead of Angie Palacios Dajomes with 255kg Bronze went to Olivia Reeves with 253kg Liao also won both Snatch and C&J gold medals (with another WR in C&J) in the women's -71kg OQR, I fear that Giulia Miserendino and Chen Wen-Huei are the big loser from Today, dropping from the 9th and 10th useful position out of the top 10 meanwhile Neama Said and Amanda Schott are the new entries in the top 10 positions for this championship is an absolute disaster (except for the good Sergio Massidda in the men's -61kg)
  4. Thanks! for what concerns Abokahla, I think he would have more chances going up to 102kg rather than down to 89kg (where he has a good 375kg record, but the medals are 20kg higher) meanwhile raising his BW to 102kg might give him a chance to go close to 400kg total (and a medal is safe around 395 in that class) basically, you need a better score in the -89kg than in the -102kg to medal at the Olympics this time
  5. not the comeptition people would normally expect in the men's -96kg Gold went to Karim Abokahla with a Total of 387kg, Silver went to Won Jong-Beom with 384kg and Bronze went to Qasim Al-Lami with 379kg Abokhala also won gold in the C&J, meanwhile Al-Lami won the Snatch gold None of Today's scores are good enough to enter the useful positions of the men's -102kg OQR, but Abokahla's 387kg are just 1 kilo below the current line (unless there are some doping issues I forgot once again is Adiletuly still with us or we lost him, too? ) p.s. @Laraja Tsikhantsou (men's -102kg OQR) is also from , not

  11. so, this was the last K1PL tournament of this season...and did show that they're back on the driving seat also in the Kumite events if the sport won't get its Olympic status back, soon we'll be back to the good old traditional Japanese domination (with few exceptions)

  13. oh, yes! you're right I totally forgot that thanks for the backup...I just can't always keep up with all the things happening around the sport (maybe I should follow less disciplines, but more carefully...but I love them all, what else can I do? )
  14. right now, no team at all as I wrote above, when I was a kid (and always a bit later) I was a Juventus fan (but football has never been my first sport except for my very early years...when I discovered a few other sports, I started to root for them rather than football) the only club I root for right now is Olimpia Milano in Basketball (but I still have in my heart the Hockey Club Milano, even if it doesn't exist anymore since a long time ago) and the I have a sympathy for the Devil...ops...no, I mean...the US sports teams I usually follow (LA Kings in the NHL, LA Dodgers in the MLB, the Oakland Raiders in the NFL and the UCLA Bruins in all the NCAA sports, meanwhile I disowned the LA Lakers in the NBA when LeBron came to town...and actually I'm not following the NBA as much as I follow the European basketball and the other US sports)
  15. actually, I grew up as a big fan of that club (I used to adore Michel Platini first, Roby Baggio then and Alex Del Piero in the end), but when the old classy managers like Boniperti and Umberto Agnelli left, I started to feel disgusted by the arrogance and lack of fair play of people like Moggi & Giraudo to Andrea Agnelli and Paratici Today I wouldn't call myself an hater, but really, I'm not interested in anything happens around the Italian Serie A anymore I just support (with not much enthusiasm) the Italian clubs in the international competitions and our National team (at all levels...more the youth teams than the senior one), even if most times they're a pain in the ass to follow
  16. in the meantime, the OQR in the men's -89kg slightly changed in the lower useful positions of course, Javadi broke in big time with his 384kg, but were already in good qualifying position thanks to Rostami's score of 380kg now they just gained 1 position (from 5th to 4th) with the new entry also Petr Asayonak (AIN, actually @Laraja you should correct the qualification table...he's not ) improved his record to 371kg and his position (now he's 8th) the man who actually entered the qualifying positions is Marin Robu (370kg), who's now 10th unfortunately, Romain Imadouchene is 11th, the first below the line after his 369kg effort Rejepbay Rejepov dropped from the 10th useful place to the 12th with his 366kg (he didn't compete in Riyadh, as he's facing a doping ban, therefore he's already out of everything)
  17. no, Today he was supposed to deliver at least an Olympic qualifying score (around 380 total) he just missed out because probably he wasn't mentally sharp after the long period out of the international competitions once he missed the first snatch, I saw the bombing out coming...and bang! he did it I hope he can fix that soon, as the chances to qualify are always less (3 to go, if I remember well)
  18. you mean that idiot (not) playing football for the striped black and white team from Turin, don't you?
  19. we already have 1 OQP in men's skeet, I don't think we are eligible for the ranking place
  20. Oscar Reyes is the new World Champion in the men's -81kg! he lifted 163kg in the snatch (2nd) and 193kg in the C&J (thanks to the very generous judges, tbh) for a 356kg Total the Overall silver went to Rahmat Abdullah, thanks to his unbelievable C&J world record who moved him up to 354kg in the Olympic Total all these marks, however, don't mean anything in terms of the -89kg class OQR and now, in about 30 mins, it's time for the great comeback of Antonino Pizzolato, who hasn't lift in an official competition since the 2022 European Champs (when he won with at the time an amazing WR in C&J and Total, improved by Karlos Nasar at the last World Champs) can't wait! the hype is high
  21. and we missed it again!
