  1. Hong 11.500 on the HB, calls himself out of the medal race.
  2. after 5 Rotations, Hashimoto has 72.765, Zhang 72.332, Tanigawa 71.631, Hong and Malone plus Yulo are in the 70.X. Malone has the Floor left, all the others will be on the Horizontal Bar. I think those are the only people left in the medal race (with the top 2 fighting for Gold and Silver and the others for Bronze).
  3. Tomorrow also start the 2022 Taiwan Series, with game #1 of the best-of-7 series between the Rakuten Monkeys and the CTBC Brothers. game #1 is scheduled for 5.05 p.m. local time (10.05 a.m.) in Taoyuan (home of the Monkeys, who have the home field advantage and will play at home games 1, 2 and, if necessary, 5, 6 and 7, according to the unusual rules of that League).
  4. KBO 2022 Korean Series game #3: SSG Landers Incheon @ Kiwoom Heroes Seoul 8-2 (SSG Landers lead the series 2-1) very close game until the 9th inning and very good performance by the starting pitchers. the Heroes got the lead 1-0 in the bottom of the 4th inning, thanks to a double by the Cuban superstar Yasiel Puig, who then scored on a center field single by Kim Tae-Jin. after that, it was a pitchers' domination till the 8th, when the Landers turned things around, scoring 2 runs off an error by the Heroes' shortstop, followed by a 2-run shot by former NY Mets outfielder Juan Lagares. it was the beginning of the end for the team from Seoul. in the top of the 9th inning, in fact, the guests just exploded and scored 6 runs, destroying relievers Kim Jae-Woong and Kim Tae-Hoon. the second run scored by the Heroes in the bottom of the 9th was just cosmetic. now the RS champions lead the series 2 games to 1. here's Today's match boxscore: https://mykbostats.com/games/10365-SSG-vs-Kiwoom-20221104 game #4 is scheduled for Tomorrow (Saturday, November 5th) in Seoul, always @ 2 p.m. local time (6 a.m. CET).
  5. Stage #3 ( Indianapolis) best of day #1 Katie Ledecky took advantage of McIntosh's decision to swim other races and easily won yesterday's W 400m Free in 3.54.04. Bella Sims also went under the 4-min mark in 3.58.85. Matthew Sates couldn't continue his personal streak over the M 400m Free, as he was only 5th in a race dominated by Kieran Smith in 3.35.99. Kylie Masse was the only swimmer below the 26-sec mark in the W 50m Back (25.96 for her). Summer McIntosh edged out Katie Grimes in the W 200m Fly, 2.03.40 to 2.04.16. Chad Le Clos was more than a second faster than his closest rival in the M 100m Fly. 48.85 his winning time. Lilly King dominated the W 200m Breast from start to finish in 2.17.56. Sydney Pickrem was the only other swimmer below the 2.20-mark (2.19.77). Nick Fink continued his sweep of the M 100m Breast, even if not in an amazing clocking (56.15 for him). Katarzyna Wasick right now is in a class of her own over the W 50m Free distance: 23.10 for her, not so far away from Ranomi Kromowidjojo's WR (22.93). Dylan Carter edged out Kyle Chalmers in the M 50m Free, one of the best men's races of the night. They were also the only 2 swimmers below the 21-sec mark (20.72 to 20.81). the closest race of the night, however, was the W 100m IM, where Beata Nelson just outtouched Beryl Gastaldello 57.81 to 57.82, with Louise Hansson not so far behind them (58.12). finally, the man of yesterday's session, Shaine Casas, who won 2 events. First, he dominated the M 200m Back in 1.48.40 and then he ended the evening with the gold medal over the M 100m IM in 51.04, beating Michael Andrew (51.22). 6. in Italy we use to call the Dominican Republic "Santo Domingo", at least when we speak of them. Formally, however, it's always the Dominican Republic also here (Repubblica Dominicana in Italian).
  7. please, don't try and justify that score (actually, only Jones got 7.900, the 7.633 are all 0.4 behind her...even Ou got a miserable 7.666 -4th best E score...can't judge the Dutch girl who got 7.733 'cause I didn't see her), she wasn't that good.
  8. I'm a bit disappointed by the Italian girls, but it was their fault...too many mistakes... pity especially for Martina Maggio, who could have been in the fight for bronze* without that bloody fall on the UB. *I don't think she would eventually got it, but still...
  9. women's All-Around Gold: Rebeca Andrade Silver: Shilese Jones Bronze: the judges...ops, I mean... Jessica Gadirova
  10. Rebeca Andrade world champion! 14.400 on the Floor, 56.899 her total score (1.5 pts better than Jones).
  11. Gadirova's execution score on the Balance Beam is more than claculated, it's beyond imagination. she has 0.4 more than anybody else with that. it's the score that gave her the medal.
  12. Jade Carey "only" 14.166 on the Floor, she's quite behind Gadirova.
  13. Black scored 14.033 on the Vault, Gadirova a suspicious 14.400 on the Floor... therefore, Gadirova is the main candidate to get the bronze medal (unless Carey scores around 14.800, which is unlikely with today's judges)
  14. women's All-Around after 3 rotations 1. Rebeca Andrade 42.499 2. Shilese Jones 41.699 3. Alice Kinsella 40.899 4. Jessica Gadirova 40.799 5. Elizabeth Black 40.699 6. Jade Carey 40.532
  15. Tiril Eckhoff has to take another break: "I don't know when she'll be back", says national team doctor Aasne Fenne Hoksrud. She has gone through a tough period and is unlikely to be seen in the World Cup until next year. 16. KBO 2022 Korean Series game #2: Kiwoom Heroes Seoul @ SSG Landers Incheon 1-6 (series tied 1-1) 3 runs scored by the SSG Landers in the first inning, followed by 2 more in the 5th (against only 1 run scored by the Heroes in the 3rd) and it was all over quite early. not the same exciting match as game 1, for sure. now the series is tied at 1 and the teams head to Seoul for the next 3 matches, starting from Friday. here's Today's match boxscore: https://mykbostats.com/games/10364-Kiwoom-vs-SSG-20221102 game #3 is scheduled for Friday (November 4th) in Seoul, always @ 6.30 p.m. local time (10.30 a.m. CET).
  17. KBO 2022 Korean Series game #1: Kiwoom Heroes Seoul @ SSG Landers Incheon 7-6 (after 10 innings, Heroes lead the series 1-0) Amazing game #1 of the Korean series. Good start by the home team, scoring 1 run in the 2nd and 3rd inning to take a solid lead. then the Heroes found the way to touch the starting pitcher of the SSG Landers, Kim Kwang-Hyun, and scored twice in both the 5th and 6th inning (also helped by a couple of errors of the opposing defense). the home team replied in both the 5th and 6th inning, but with only 1 run in each stint, which means that the game was tied at 4 after 6 innings. then, as often happens in Korean Baseball when the relievers take the mound, it was no time for people with fragile hearts. the Landers took the lead once again in the bottom of the 8th, but the Heroes did counter in the top of the 9th, scored 2 runs and went 6-5 ahead. when it looked all over, however, the home team found the way to tie the match once again and send everything to the extra-innings, when the Heroes scored another run in the top of the 10th inning and this time it was really enough, as the SSG Landers couldn't find an answer anymore. here's Today's match boxscore: https://mykbostats.com/games/10363-Kiwoom-vs-SSG-20221101 game #2 is scheduled for Tomorrow in Incheon, always @ 6.30 p.m. local time (10.30 a.m. CET).

  21. Stage #2 ( Toronto) best of day #3 Maggie McNeil swam a new Short Course World Cup record to take the W 100m Fly in 54.78 (just 19/100 of a second slower than Kelsi Dahlia's WR). Yesterday she was followed by Louise Hansson in a very fast 55.02 in one of the best races of the night. Beata Nelson almost broke the 2-minute mark in the W 200m Back, winning the race in 2.00.50 ahead of Kylie Masse and Summer McIntosh (both on the 2.02.X mark). Shaine Casas took another gold in the M 100m Back in a SCWC record breaking time of 48.84 (half a second behind the WR). Ruta Meilutyte beat Lilly King also in the W 100m Breast, but this time with no unforgettable clocking (28.96 to 29.20). Siobhan Haughey won the W 100m Free. She outsprinted Beryl Gastaldello and Katarzyna Wasick (51.33 the winning time for the woman from HKG, also below the 52-sec mark the other girls on the podium). the M 200m Free was the top race of the night, with an amzing finish where 5 men ended up in a 14/100 of a sec span. Brooks Curry eventually came up on top of a clean sweep, followed by teammates Trenton Julian and Kieran Smith (1.42.32, 1.42.35 and 1.42.45 the times of the first 3 guys). Matthew Sates and Danas Rapsys finished the race tied in 4th place, just 1/100 of a sec behind the bronze medallist. finally, Beata Nelson earned herself the title of MVP of the session by winning also the final race, the W 200m IM, in 2.05.08, edging out a bunch of Canadian girls led by Sydney Pickrem (2.05.23) and Summer McIntosh (2.06.57). 22. meanwhile Luka Doncic has started his season with 6 consecutive games always above the 30-pt mark (nobody like him since MJ in 1986). and "maybe-to-play-for-Italy-one-day" Paolo Banchero stopped his streak of games above the 20-pt mark as a rookie at 5.
  24. NPB 2022 Japan Series The Osaka ORIX Buffaloes are the Japan Series Champions! First title in 26 years!!! game #7: Osaka ORIX Buffaloes @ Tokyo Yakult Swallows 5-4 (Buffaloes won the series 4-2) The Orix Buffaloes, champions of Japan's Pacific League, beat the Central League champion Yakult Swallows 5-4 in Game 7 on Sunday to win their franchise's first Japan Series since Ichiro Suzuki and the Orix BlueWave triumphed in 1996. Down 2-0 with one tie after three games, the Buffaloes won four straight games, coming from behind to tie the series at two wins apiece in a three-run Game 5 comeback and never trailed after that, surviving a late Swallows rally on Sunday. Lefty Hiroya Miyagi, working on four days rest after taking the loss in Game 3, started for the Buffaloes and had great movement and deception in Game 7 at Tokyo's Jingu Stadium, getting the Swallows hitters to chase out of the zone. He allowed three hits and a walk over five innings while striking out five. Ryo Ota put Orix on the board on the first pitch, going down for a low Cy Sneed fastball and hitting it out to center for a leadoff home run. The game remained close until the fifth inning, when catcher Torai Fushimi led off with a single. Back-to-back bunt singles followed, a lucky one by Miyagi, and a beauty by Ota down the third base line, with third baseman Munetaka Murakami playing back for a force at the bag. Sneed got a lucky break of his own, a double play on a ball smashed to first baseman Jose Osuna, but a walk and a hit batsman made it 2-0, and center fielder Yasutaka Shiomi missed a line drive hit by Yutaro Sugimoto for a three-run, three-base error. Sugimoto, who twice singled in the first runs when Orix held Yakult scoreless and had an RBI single in Game 2's tie, was named the series' MVP. With a big lead, Buffaloes then went to their bullpen, getting two scoreless innings from rookie Yuki Udagawa before the Swallows scored four runs in the eighth off Orix's third pitcher, Soichiro Yamazaki, three on Jose Osuna's second home run of the series. Side-armer Motoki Higa got out of the inning to preserve the lead. Fushimi gave Orix a leadoff double in the ninth, but Osuna threw out his second runner at the plate to keep it a one-run game. Jacob Waguespack, who earned the win in the Buffaloes' 6-4 Game 5 win, earned his third save of the series with a 1-2-3 ninth. here's Today's match boxscore: https://npb.jp/bis/eng/2022/games/s2022103001862.html
