  1. Sadly this isn't something new. There has been a slump for some time now. Tokyo and Beijing still had respectable numbers, but not on the level of previous Games. After Tokyo was the first downtrend, which was always expected, after such a big event and people needing some time off and to take a breather. Usually things rebounded in 2 months for the start of the winter season, but even this last winter season, excluding the Olympics, felt empty for the most part. And then the war came and activity just took a nosedive.. I can add myself to the list of people, that are more busy than before and want to do/watch different things, but i still try to follow and watch the sports as much, as possible. But to be honest, when i come here and see, that there isn't much discussion going on about the different events, i'm not too eager to leave a comment as well and just browse through.. Hope things change and can go back to normal.
  2. Good to see, that the IOC still have principles and don't discriminate the Winter Olympics. Instead of only shitting on the Summer Olympics they are being equally fair and are shitting on the Winter ones too. They haven't reached full equilibrium, but 2030 is close.
  3. What about Macedonia
  4. Popovici with a surprisingly close race, especially after that 1/2. I was thinking he could have a crack at sub 47, but looks like he went too fast on the first 50. Dressel could have easily won after all.
  5. Stop the presses, Bulgaria actually won a match in the Nations League NASA should investigate, if there is not a break in the space time continuum, as such unbelievable events don't happen in current time.
  6. Scared to lose to Popovici
  7. This is true and this time i'm on the side of the TV networks. The past couple of years all the governing bodies and whatnot thought they were the Champions League or the Premier League in their demands and greed and lost track of their place in the (sporting) world... Case in point, FINA, who are rather delusional of their importance in the grande scheme of things. IAAF (pardon WA..) are next in line. When this was on Eurosport it was treated like a big thing, like a jewel for many, many years. It was getting promotion months in advance and was a staple of the summer along with the Tour, the tennis Slams and the athletics Worlds.. I was crossing the days on the calendar half a year in advance in anticipation. And look at it now.. Last time there was no airing here and now it's on our national broadcaster BNT That tells it all, when broke BNT has the rights. This means that no one else wanted them, because swimming is irrelevant and they have donated the rights. And by the other comments here, there are countries, bigger swimming countries, that don't even air it at all.
  8. Italy on fireeeeee Majestic swim by Ceccon and now a second gold with Pilatto and in the 100, which isn't her best distance.

  10. Watched Top Gun the other day and plan to go again in the next few days with different friends. Absolutely breathtaking, checked all the hype boxes i was reading. Really bummed that there is no IMAX screens around me.

  12. I don't watch beach volleyball outside the Olympics, but this is being shown on TV here, so i caught a couple of matches. And yeah, the empty stands is what stood out. And it's not like they are half empty or 2/3rds, stands are completely empty. And it's Rome. I know beach volleyball is not that prominent, but come on...
  13. Cyclingnews is now a paywall ?!? F that. Anyone to recommend another good site for cycling news?
  14. Went to sleep with Corvette and Porsche dominating in GTPRO and waking up to AF Corse having a healthy lead Too bad Toyota are not having any problems, so we can have more drama.
  15. FIA have really dropped the ball this year with the calendar. Usually in the Le Mans weekend they try to not have much confrontation with other events, but this year we have also an F1 weekend, a WTCR weekend, a Superbike weekend.. With so many dates, i don't know how they can't make a more balanced calendar and spreading the different series.
  16. If you are a movie fan you are probably knowing what is happening right now and that we are seeing history unfolding before our eyes. Top Gun Maverick is doing a madman boxoffice run, that is going to be talked about decades from now. Things like this just doesn't happen to anything that's not Star Wars or MCU in the US. It just had a 90 million second US weekend with a new all time record of just 29% decline from the the premier weekend (for blockbuster 100+ million openings). Current projections have it making the top 15 US all time with a conservative numbers at 520-550, with some insiders having it going to 600 with the amazing holds it currently shows. And it's not only the US, there were insane holds in almost every other country for the second weekend, i even saw single digit drops in some major markets. Absolute bonkers positive word-of-mouth is carrying this film. Top Gun: Maverick Has Won The First A+ CinemaScore Of 2022 What else could be said, beside what i have been humming for years and some people have just started realizing. Tom Cruise is and has been the Biggest Movie star in the world and probably the last true one we are going to see. This persons love, passion and dedication to the craft of cinema and the desire to bring the ultimate experience to the viewers is almost unparalleled to any other actor out there (at least for those younger than him). PS. Looks like i am extra excited about this situation, sorry about that.
  17. Well, the Federation can always bring lower level players. I'm sure they will find volunteers to play at the World Cup and expose themselves
  18. Serbia are going with a younger squad for the first weeks tournament in Canada. 5 of their biggest names, Atanasijević, Podraščanin, Lisinac, Nemanja Petrić and Marko Ivović are off of the team. This will be a good time as ever to get a win over them, as we are playing the opening match.
  19. This time it wasn't that close like last year, bit Pizzolato is becoming like a black cat for Karlos. Weightlifting isn't a sport where you could form a duel, a rivalry between two athletes that much, as there is no face-off, but these two are the best thing to try it. That Pizzolato lift at 217 was high class, he is very impressive. Bad news for him is that Karlos is only 17-18 and will accumulate more strength and experience in the coming years. Hope losing twice to him will serve as motivation.
  20. Looks like i won't be getting my beauty sleep, as it's 10:20 pm and Djokovic - Nadal have barely begun their 4 hour battle.
  21. 3 out of 3 Only disappointment is that this 100th edition should have been held in Bulgaria, so it could have been a real celebration for the sport. Only if it wasn't for the power hungry morons here, who just don't f'n go away and continue to try to destroy the sport.
  22. Iga needs a tough match from time to time, though that collapse from 5:2 and then again in the tiebreake was questionable.
  23. Hahahha The PR team were fast to delete them, but they should have informed her, when giving the fat check, that it's going to be European sports fans and not casual entertainment Superbowl crowd.
