    I think Colombia and Venezuela can't qualify for the Pan American Games here (they have the Central American & Caribbean Games). That's why they are missing. And I don't think Paraguay has a venue for eventing. in dressage and in jumping should be the medal favorites.

    Are these going to be the first ever predetermined double bronze medals at the Olympics outside of combat sports? It's worth noting that even the days of all the weird rules of Paris 1900 and St. Louis 1904 nobody thought about awarding two bronze medals just... because.

    That was very respectable from Albisu. He even attempted to speed up after a fence down, but then crashed through another fence. Argentina finishes 10th. will contest the all-European Nations Cup final. will contest the Challenge Cup on Saturday.

    Clear for Smolders. Brazil are out by 0.40 seconds. So looks like only Belgium and Switzerland will battle it out for the Olympic quota on Sunday. That is, unless Albisu delivers a miracle clear (with up to 3 time faults).

    GB goes down to a tie with Brazil, but they win the tie breaker based on time. Brazil is in a pretty bad place now. One fence down from the Netherlands would probably be enough, though. Couple down for Belgium would seal the deal too, but that's fairly unlikely given their anchor rider.

    As it stands, Switzerland, Belgium and Norway are in the qualification zone for the NC final. Argentina, Canada and Brazil are not out of it though. Final rotation to come now.

    Yep, we better stop bidding for the events because the Osijek championships have been a disaster both as a Tokyo qualifier and now. Becoming pretty doubtful whether we will qualify anyone in trap this time, and that's the despite the fact that two Olympic champions are on the team. It would be an achievement for history books...

    Bosnia and Herzegovina placing last, behind Mali, in the final analysis is both sad and hilarious. Looking at the results, they were completely out of place in every single match. Talk about a miracle qualification which will never happen ever again...

    Updated entries Still no Morocco. Surely they will not be taking part. Looking at entries, the Olympic quota will likely be contested between . Canada is not here with their best team,whilst Mexico and Norway would need a miracle weekend. I can't see a possible pathway for Argentina here.

    It comes down to redundancy of rowing. It's difficult to build a boat of 8 similarly talented rowers. If the success is lacking, then one of them, or two of them, or four of them will just try a shorter boat. As they should. But who knows, maybe the sprint course in Los Angeles will enable athletes doubling up...
