  1. By the bye the original statement was "India has underperformed at the CWG " ........ not winter olympics ..... "not a single CWG" ... you guys seem to have a weak memory ......... go back to 2010 we thrashed canada at that event again ........ Rank CGA Gold Silver Bronze Total 1 Australia (AUS) 74 55 48 177 2 India (IND)* 38 27 36 101 3 England (ENG) 37 60 45 142 4 Canada (CAN) 26 17 32 75 so the fact is we have thrashed canada in 2 of the last 3 CWGs .......... sad but true ........ who is the underperformer at the CWG........ That birmingham does not have a single shooting range!!!!!!!!!....
  2. The per capita charts are rubbish ...... even if you have a population of a billion you can send 4 weightlifters per gender like china in weightlifting ....... so makes no sense ....... we have not done well in the olympics ..................................................but we finished well above canada in the last CWG ........ and third ..........a decent performance ............ so for a canadian to call us underperforming in the CWG is ridiculous ........
  3. "India is the worst performing nations in the CWG" well as per last chart we were third and above Canada ....... Rank CGA Gold Silver Bronze Total 1 Australia (AUS)* 80 59 59 198 2 England (ENG) 45 45 46 136 3 India (IND) 26 20 20 66 4 Canada (CAN) 15 40 27 82 so if we are the worst performing , Canada ?? I personally think that to cut shooting was a clear strategy of the big three to cut india down to size ....... .
  4. and also china is also at the bottom , so according to you china is also one of the worst performing sporting nations on this chart ........ good luck with trying to sell that to the rest of the world
  5. When will the final rankings be officially announced ....
  6. Horrible week for India ...... The shocker for me is the continued bad form of the rifle team ...... A bad run which started in delhi continued with no medals ....including two events where we would have said in 2019 should be sure medals ...women's 10m and mixed pairs ....ela anjum and apurvi did not make finals in 10m women .... Only the pistol shooters were on track 3 medals in the 5 Olympic events .... Only rahi flew the Indian colors high with a gold and close to world record in finals ....
  7. This is sure ? ...... As per lists Udayan mane is first replacement ?
  8. So we can expect a messy juggling as countries like japan have to drop a couple of teams , even India may have qualifiers in two events and need to drop one ...... But the rules simplify the choices as only the highest ranked boat qualifies .....
  9. Actually the tokyo ranking have not been updated ?
  10. Great...... interested to get your perspective
  11. I did see some asian atheletics tournament in may .....but I presume it may be cancelled ....so then they may focus on the domestic events
  12. So where does he go from here .....
  13. I would be slightly more optimistic 3-8 medals in shooting 1-3 medals in boxing 1-4 medals in wrestling 1 medal in weightlifting 1 medal in badminton Possible outside chances in archery , javelin , hockey ..... So 7 to a max of 20 .....likely around 10-12 .......... Big skew as most of the really good indian players are so young 18-20 .....see how the handle the pressure
  14. That is till semis : Final analysis would be after the semis 50 : JAP /IND 53: KAZ / UZB 57: IND /MGL 62: MGL/IND 68 KAZ /CHN 76 KGZ / MGLor IND
  15. Let us look at tomorrows womens qualifiers My take ....... 50 kg : 5 only ..... The top place would definately go to susaki of Jap ...... A double world champ ....I am suprised to see her here .... I would give the second to indias seema n this field maybe the mongolian tsogt would also be a contender .... But seema for me is definitely a strong quota prospect 53 kgs : tatyana in the upper draw and aktenge of uzb in the lower draw The 57 : the upper draw definitely Anshu from India And mongolian in the lower The 62 : upper draw definately sukhegin of MON ... A world gold medallist again suprising to see her here Lower draw - Sonam looks the one to beat ....China always have a strong team and long jia could upset sonam but I will say Sonam 68 : upper draw CHN and KAZ both have really good players....edge to KAZ Lower draw : all the three are relatively unknown but will give the edge to UZB as she had beaten the indian in junior asians and Kor has been weak 76 : 5 relatively unknown wrestlers so very open ...but still may prefer Aiperi of KGZ and second either of IND or MGL ...
  16. Sorry to hear that ...... Get better fast .... But you can watch the qualifiers hopefully in peace .....all the best
  17. Also for the first time Indian woman sailor in olympics....... Our woman olympians really rock ..... In 2016 all our medals were from women atheletes
  18. Great job by India with 3 boats in the olympics for the first time ever .....
  19. I was suprised that we do not have divya kakran in 68 ........ She would have been a favourite ......
  20. I think we need to wait for the medal round at least for laser men ......?
  21. I believe after 10/12 races we have the medal race and pts are carried over ..... How many boats participate in the medal race and are the pts same for the medal race
  22. I am hoping for 2 qualifiers in women ..... And one in men .....
  23. I think rohan is completely right ..... There are 2 quota places in laser both men and women and 1 quota place in the rest of the boats
  24. Interestingly ..... The inexplicable decision of north korea not to take part seems to increase the chances of 1. Mary kom in boxing ( the north korean was a gold medallist in the world championships ) 2. Vinesh in wrestling .... The north korean is ranked 1 3. Of course chanu in weightlifting where the korean is ranked second above chanu
