Our team is playing piss poor and frankly doesn't deserve at the moment to be in the League. But that travel of 20+ hours was absurd. This system is one epic fail.

Andreas Wellinger can't compete in the upcoming Season. He has torn his cruciate ligament.

Occasionally I write a poem I become very found of. The following is a political poem about asylum seeker and refugees, inspired by the argument presented in Capernaum.
 
Sanctuary
I am no one,
I matter to none.
They bomb my house
My country is like an outhouse,
Full of shit.
It’s split.
At the seams where people tear,
Each other apart without care.
The soldiers shoot the innocent.
War is their sad little instrument.
They play an tune of death,
And sell large amounts of meth.
I want a better life,
Away from all this strife.
One where I can actually live past ten.
One where I can play again.
One where I don’t live in fear,
Where imagination is my only frontier.
I want to live.
 
These “refugees” take our jobs.
I don’t really feel a need to sob.
Who are they to steal the American dream?
They all just want to sit around and eat ice cream.
They are lazy,
And their “truths” are all so hazy.
How am I supposed to sell a house?
I’m caught in a political trap like a mouse.
Ah, I’ve got it!
Parent with child, make em’ split.
Asylum seekers at my gate
I’ll disseminate hate.
“Build that wall!” I’ll yell.
Then we’ll throw them all in a cell.
 
I had this notion,
That I would one day swim in an ocean.
Drifting carelessly in the water
Away from all the manslaughter.
I would be free,
My life long and lengthy.
Instead in live nowhere.

After years, I still just don't get it. How can one beat another team by "311/8 - 207"? Shouldn't at least the format be the same on both sides? To me it sounds like a football match ending with 5 goals for team A and a time of 21:45 for team B.

Sad to see such low attendance figures at non-host games in some places, but well - this tournament  means basically nothing these days ( To the point it doesn't even give the winner a single point to the World Ranking) many teams plays with what's not even their B teams (Serbia...), some games take place at really ridiculous time (Really? 13:00 Local time?) and I can't  understand why they use  this tournament formula at all. The formula used in the 2000's and shortly brought back in 2014, where each country only played 2 home or away games with the same opponent in a given weekend, with no matches on the neutral ground was much, much better.

This tournament is a complete joke. Not just because of the b teams, but mostly because everyone plays like they don't give two shits. 
 
Nothing really matters, this doesn't qualify for anything, it's just a bother amid preparation for the real qualifiers which are in 2 months, ranking points are laughable, it's 15 games just to make the finals, the main leagues finished like 2 days ago...
 
I miss the old World League of the 90s/early 00s  almost all teams cared, B teams were rare and the title had prestige.
 
 

I am going to sound more and more negative, but FIVB has just confirmed the new qualification system for the FIVB World Championship

1) Top 2 of each continental championship qulaify to World Champs

2) Only 24 not yet qualified teams will be able to compete for the 12 remaining spots.

While the first point seems to be a step in the right direction, the second one is ridiculous and basically eliminates all sorts of competition in volleyball, and is very very bad news for countries such as , , and nearly 150 different countries which participated in this edition's qualification tournaments, but may not get any chance to qualify at all if they don't perform well in the continental championship . And. FIVB knows very well that for many poor countries from Africa or the Caribbeans the World Championship qualifiers are the only tournament they can present themselves, many simply can't afford to participate in continental qualification AND   Continental Championship AND another qualification tournament (if they get enough ranking points). This is all to make sure the "proper" a.k.a rich teams qualify.

This is yet another step in turning volleyball into a farce. First, they turn World League into a circus no one gives a damn about and top teams send their Z team to compete, knowing well that even if they lose all games 0-3 they won't be relegated, then more and more pathetic Olympic qualification systems, and now this. Not to mention their stupid PPV streaming system 

If i was a conspiracy theorist, I'd think that there is someone in  the FIVB who just doesn't like  how many new NT's appeared in Volleyball recently (Iran, Germany, Slovenia, Belgium, Canada, even France) and just wants volley to stay this sport dominated by Poland, Brazil, Russia, and Italy it used to be a decade ago.

So I wasn’t in the best condition emotionally or physically, and I have had to quit school and other hobbies, including Totallympics. Luckily, the situation turned out not to be as bad, as cancer turned out to be curable, and she responds very well to chemotherapy, and thanks to that I’ve lately managed to set my life on the right path again, at least partially :)

Lately, everything is going quite good, so I’d like to return, especially after Sindo contacted me, and I want to repay for the days I missed. Still, for the first few days, i may not be very active, but I’ll do my best to help with the forum, and I’ll log in as often as I can. Hopefully, other things will resolve too, and I hope to have a good time on Totallympics again like I used to all those months ago

Luckily, the situation turned out not to be as bad, as cancer turned out to be curable, and she responds very well to chemotherapy, and thanks to that I’ve lately managed to set my life on the right path again, at least partially :)

Lately, everything is going quite good, so I’d like to return, especially after Sindo contacted me, and I want to repay for the days I missed. Still, for the first few days, i may not be very active, but I’ll do my best to help with the forum, and I’ll log in as often as I can. Hopefully, other things will resolve too, and I hope to have a good time on Totallympics again like I used to all those months ago

I'm sorry about your mental state. Just know that if you find yourself in a hard sport again, there will always be somebody to help or talk to, rather it be me, another totallympian, another friend, a family member, etc. 
That’s great news about your mother by the way, I’ve known way to many people who have been effected by cancer.

FIVB  decided that there won't be any free streaming for the upcoming games of Nations League or the World Championship. 
 
In the previous editions, people were able to watch the games for free on YouTube - the interest was huge even in the lower divisions (I remember a game once had nearly 20.000 people viewing the livestream)  and the last edition of World League helped FIVB's channel get over 50.000  new subscribers.
 
But now, the FIVB decided that, in order to promote volleyball and reach even bigger global audience they are starting their own OTT channel (just as Netflix or Hulu). 
 
But wait , there is even more "great news", as according to American sources the yearly subscription will cost between 150-200 $

I want believe that these guys lost first two sets on purpose  

And yes, no free beer for fans, now we can win next 3 sets 

And we lost first set to them, second overall at this tournament
