  1. Hmm. The federation was of the same opinion as Brazil it seems As they announced that Oliver Dingley and Tanya Watson had qualified for the games
  2. Being in a qualification spot with 2 weeks to go is obviously a great chance. He didn’t say it was certain They may go faster but if the Netherlands wanted to try for it, they’d probably have entered a team here.
  3. and improve their times but not their position. If 2 countries currently outside the top 15 in the world don't beat 7:12:00 then Ireland will send it's first swimming relay team to the Olympics since 1972
  4. I love when they put a "classic" style stage in the GTs. One of my favourite wins ever was Cadel Evans winning a similar stage in the Giro about 10 years ago. Carnage on GC even if Dan Martin came out worst. Hopefully frees him up to hunt stages now
  5. Effectively yes. And then hope the non Europeans don’t come over the top
  6. I forgot the auto qualifiers in 4x200m! So of course Ireland can't catch and !! Anyway here's the rankings for those not qualified 1 7:07:67 * 2 7:10:44 3 7:12:73 4 7:12:99 5 7:13:06 6 7:13:08 *I assume that the time earned by the team "Magyar Valogatott" can count for If not, then they're they're now behind everybody. Perhaps one of our Hungarian posters would know for sure.
  7. I forgot the quto qualifiers. Let me just recheck!!
  8. That article was published over 10 days ago and there’s been no public outcry I do have some sympathy for the boxer but it’s pretty clear most people won’t care. The IOC won’t want to set a precedent of offering wildcards for ‘injured’ or unavailable athletes and they’ll (rightly IMO) point to COVID as an extenuating circumstance for not being able to host a qualifier
  9. Gymnastics is another sport that has a similar rule. All the team can attempt to qualify but only 2 per nation can advance to the apparatus finals The swimming European championships is a pretty odd event though.
  10. If in the unlikely situation a tri partite spot wasn’t awarded. I don’t think it’ll happen
  11. I posted on the other thread but here’s all the quotas won today W2- W2x W4- W1x W4x M4x W8+ M8+ M2- M2x M4- M1x LW2x LM2x
  12. Great regatta for good for and others Surprised no qualifier for I thought they’d complete the team!
  13. That’s it. All qualifying spots finished. Just the tri-partite spots left (and any reallocations)
  14. All quotas today W2- W2x W4- W1x W4x M4x W8+ M8+ M2- M2x M4- M1x LW2x LM2x
  15. And I think they’re a medal chance too...
  16. Is the camera only head on? lol EDIT : they’ve a camera at 1,500m and at 2,000m. This is weird (and poor)
  17. Live video stream today for the finals. Starting at 10:10 local time
  18. Updated schedule for tomorrow semi finals start at 9:00 (local time) finals start at 10:10 (local time)
  19. The world rowing site is a disaster since they ‘upgraded’ The audio comms worked for me when the main page loads but that isn’t all the time. I’ve no tracker. The results page doesn’t load and forget about looking up old results (a great feature of the old site) Anway based on times it’s a 3 boat battle for the the 2 spots in W4- ; Ireland, Italy and China The LW2x team have also won their heat. Very promising start
  20. This looks about right to me but so hard to judge the non-Europeans in particularly as they haven't raced against the field in nearly 2 years
