  1. It’s disorientating seeing them row right to left
  2. Maybe it’s because all the sub licensed European broadcasters are showing it live too
  3. More stuff available when you sort schedule by NOC now too. Swimming heats added as well as boxing, taekwondo and judo today
  4. Yes, any medal is always welcome. I think Kellie will get one now. I’d be disappointed if she doesn’t I’d be surprised and delighted if any of the others do
  5. Thought draw for all the Irish boxers except Kellie Harrington who avoided most of the dangerous non seeds until the semis at least. Aidan Walsh is now our best chance of a men’s medal but his sisters draw is so tough Gone from hoping for 3/4 medals to thinking we’ll get one now
  6. Michaela Walshe of Ireland is number 4 seed but has an incredibly difficult route to a medal. Irma Testa of Italy is likely in the last 16
  7. Same for the top 2 weights in the mens too in fairness
  8. Draw is on now. We should have results soon
  9. I'm told 9pm local time today but haven't seen that in writing anywhere!
  10. Means we're down to a nice neat 16 for womens 75kg. 2 wins gets you a medal
  11. Confirmed Deemed "unfit to box" https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/olympic-games/resOG2020-/pdf/OG2020-/BOX/OG2020-_BOX_C67_BOX-------------------------------1.pdf New seeds are 1 2 3 4 https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/olympic-games/resOG2020-/pdf/OG2020-/BOX/OG2020-_BOX_C32C1_BOXW75KG--------------------------.pdf At men's fly (48kg) the boxer from is out too. New entry list https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/olympic-games/resOG2020-/pdf/OG2020-/BOX/OG2020-_BOX_C32C1_BOXM52KG--------------------------.pdf
  12. Cricket actively cutting the number of teams going to to their world cup (the only sport I can ever remember doing so) shows they don't really care about the rest of the world. Some of the big nations clearly didn't like getting embaressed by the likes of and I have no interest in softball at all but good luck to the teams involved. I'm sure they couldn't care less what some fools on an internet forum think about them
  13. Are the draws listed anywhere yet? edit - I watched the video and got what I needed.
  14. It won’t matter in the end. Some countries have lost medals to poor judging. Some because of injured or ill athletes. Even freak weather has impacted results in some events. There are literally hundreds of factors at play and COVID is just another one.
  15. I know some cricket traditionalists and they *despise* this idea But I watched the ending of the game and there were lots of happy fans in the stands and that’s all that really matters IMO. Mostly families
  16. I will never let the facts get in the way of a joke!!
  17. No surprise that the first medal contenders to test positive for something is Russian
  18. But Daniels was the 4th best in Tryon and he's one of the best in the world now. I still see Ireland as outsiders for a medal but I think the lack of a discard score could help them as we're usually stronger in cross country than most. You'd have to imagine Germany would win but they were only 5th in Tryon so anything is possible.
  19. Wonder will see a USA/Richardson scenario where the Australians lose their mind and suggest he shouldn’t be banned as it wasn’t performance enhancing…
  20. As more info is filtered into the system, the website allowing you to look up your NOC's schedule is more useful now. For example they were very quick to add the rowing heats in.
  21. Interesting story in the heats with Ireland's world champion Sanita Puspure going up against Uganda's Kathleen Noble Her parents left Ireland for missionary work in Uganda a year before she was born. She represented Uganda in swimming at the world short cross championships in 2012 and only took up rowing during her second year at Princeton in the US She's Uganda's first ever rower at the Olympics https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/olympic-games/en/results/rowing/athlete-profile-n1451047-noble-kathleen.htm
  22. Trying to stay awake just to check it out. It’s not my sport but I hope fans of the game enjoy themselves today/tonight
  23. The headline gracenote figures are out. Don’t think they can be drilled down unless you’re a subscriber. https://www.gracenote.com/virtual-medal-table/
  24. I definitely feel sorry for the swimmers but other nations have had to cut their numbers so it would set a terrible precedent if they allowed the Polish team to bring whoever they wanted I posted earlier that Ireland very nearly made the same mistake. We're using a backstroke sprinter and a breast stroker to fill out our 4x200m freestyle team as we could only use 2 relay only spots and none of our freestylers got an invite
