  1. Wow @Makedonas, upsets v v v v
  2. Smaller upsets in men's epee, wins against , eliminated . v v v v
  3. @phelps How do you feel about men's epee tomorrow? I wasn't paying that much attention during the World Cup, so I am not sure what happened with and at the last two events. I am guessing we will be back to normal, with hopefully Hungary also performing as expected now that Siklósi doesn't have injury problems. got an apparently dangerous to deal with + can also cause issues has to defeat , who have seen better days in men's epee will face off against once again, they beat us at the previous World Cup event, we have to win this time will have to prove against that they are among the favorites for the quotas
  4. Men's foil looks kinda predictable after 1 World + continentals 128 116 100 92 90 84 74 66 64 63 60 55
  5. I would be shocked if you won't qualify all of your teams. You got 6 host quotas and Russia isn't here, which means that this should be very easy for France. You may qualify all of your teams even without the help of the host quotas.
  6. 3 again, hopefully. Men's sabre, men's epee, and one of women's sabre and women's epee. Maybe all 4, but I am not getting my hopes up that much. Anything lower than 3 would be a disappointment, Hungarian fencing is stronger in this Olympic cycle than it was during the previous Olympic qualification. The foil teams are not qualifying. The Tokyo women's foil team quota was a fluke for us and the men's foil team is not ready, maybe in LA.
  7. Anyway, I hope everyone is ready for men's epee because I am not. The last two World Cup events were insane, both and have a lot to prove. And so do we. Of all the potential quotas, this is the one I want the most. I am not accepting another NQ from the Hungarian men's epee team. This disgrace can't happen again.
  8. has been in Olympic qualifying position on the world ranking for almost 5 years now, I wouldn't bet against them. They still have the advantage over us because they are much higher on the world ranking, which means that they will get easier opponents. We will have to beat or just to reach the Top8 at the WCh, it won't be easy. That damn 15th place at the 2022 Worlds is hurting us a lot on the world ranking.
  9. Women's epee is a mess after 1 World Cup + Continentals, but the WCh will likely clear things up a lot. 128 116 87 80 76 76 73 72 70 68 64 62 Hungary doesn't look as good as may think. We are still only 9th on the WR, which means that the WCh draw won't be easy for us, an R16 elimination could undo everything the girls achieved today. Poland is still fine, they are high on the WR and will get an easier draw at the WCh.
  10. So damn close to that gold medal.... But if the girls can come this far and almost beat all of , they must find a way to Paris.
  11. Zalán Pekler (shooting) might be the most successful athlete at these Games. He just won his 4th gold medal at the European Games. He won gold medals in the mixed team rifle, the men's 50m rifle, the men's team 10m rifle and the men's team 50m rifle.
  12. The usual v final in men's foil. So far we are the only ones who were able to break through this Italy-France dominance.

  14. It looks like we got unlucky in the women's sabre draw, we will have to beat in the QF. WR places aside, they are the favorites of that match, not us. It's going to be really hard for us to to keep our high WR place in women's sabre, the team is not looking good. v / v / v / v / Two very crucial QF matches coming up tomorrow: v and v
  15. WOW, girls, we have waited sooo long for this in women's epee!!! upsets and is in the final! v for the gold
  16. can't fall outside of the WR Top8 even after this defeat, so they are still the favorites for the men's foil European quota. But they definitely made it harder for themselves.
  17. This is how much the world ranking matters in this sport to have a chance for the quota. only had one more WR point than in men's foil, and that meant that they got in the QF here while we got . Obviously a huge difference, for one more WR point. And now the Hungarian men's foil quota chances are close to none as we are getting the kind of opponents we can't beat while Germany will get easier opponents.
  18. Siess throws away the match against in men's foil, huge upset. Poland is having a bad fencing competition, none of their strongest teams made it into the Top4. Men's foil SFs v v
  19. The girls did it, Hungary is the Top4 in women's epee for the first time in 7 years! The quota is still within reach. v v
  20. What the fuck... Mária Érdi and Jonatán Vadnai will have to skip the Olympic Test Event because of an administrative error. Apparently the payment bill didn't arrive to the Hungarian Federation and their registration to the event was unsuccessful. Jesus fucking Christ, these athletes might even be medal contenders if they perform well in the next year. How can the Hungarian federation fuck this up so much?
  21. No surprises in men's foil either. So far we don't see any big upsets at the team events. v v v v
  22. Disaster avoided by Hungary in women's epee, but the draw is bad for us, we will have to beat Poland, otherwise Ukraine or Switzerland will gain more points than us. v v v v
  23. Christ, what are we doing against Spain in women's epee... Don't do this to me, girls, don't lose the quota like this...
  24. This is just another example how Wikipedia is fucked up. It controls the knowledge of millions and millions, maybe billions of people. The editors and admins have an insane amount of power in their hands, and they are just some random folks who happen to have free time to edit and control Wikipedia. It's too much power in the hands of anonym people. The concept of Wikipedia is great, but it became too big and too popular for its own good and now it's viewed as the #1 source of information by huge number of people.
  25. Boxing had a "clean punch" scoring system between Barcelona and London, and as far as I can remember it still had controversies. The issue is that you simply can't measure the force of punches, you obviously can't put force detectors on their bodies or in their gloves. Or maybe you can put them into the gloves? Lol, I have no idea if that's plausible.
